Don’t usually ‘cos it’s a couple of hours or so from here and I’m not the worlds earliest riser. I also object to traffic jams.

We’re skipping Waddington to go to a party (5 miles from Duxford) so Legends will be a superior replacement. Means we’ll actually watch the displays.

With 2 day events we invariably go Saturdays and recover Sundays. It’s advanced age that makes it necessary.:)

Depending on the severity of my hangover on 29/6, I might call in before coming home. Anybody likely to be about?

The showground is next to the museum, but the autojumble carpark is on the opposite side! I suggest you got to the autojumble first, then drive round to the museum. If you do it the other way round you’ll end up parked a long way from the autojumble entrance.

My kit car show’s not until next weekend so I won’t be there. Gives me another week to fix the car.

Anybody any idea of times for the Vulcan run at Wellesbourne on Sunday?

From the shape of the pic and the logo I would guess it’s from a calendar.
Needs somebody wth a better filing system than mine to find it.

Don’t approve of combined scanner/printers. One bit fails it usualy all fails.

My current scanner is USB, came from a computer fair last year and was £37. Week after it was £35 – bugger. Works perfectly, actual resolution 600dpi I think.
If it was only for displaying on forums and the like, buy the cheapest you can get as monitors only show 72dpi anyway.

If you really want to scan negs and slides, wait and save up a bit more. Saw an Epson Perfection 3200 or similar advertised recently. Resolution 3200 x 6400, built in slide/neg capability, scans 12 35mm slides in one hit, about £260. Could be + VAT, sorry, as I’m VAT registered I tend to not take a lot of notice.
That’s substantially higher resolution than a dedicated Minolta slide scanner a mate bought a year or so ago.

Think about what you need first and don’t pay for features you don’t want.
I’ve got computers and a digital camera. I only use a ‘phone to talk to people.
I’ve got an old Motorola 3788 on T-Mobile pay-as-you-go and a Nokia 3410 on O2 pay up front for life. I think the Nokia’s got games and a calculator on it. Why? It’s a ‘phone.
It’s obvious to use the Nokia as ‘phoning a landline, for up to 50 mins a month, doesn’t cost me a bean but the Motorola’s more comfortable, easier to use and clearer to hear. Admittedly it’s bigger but the distance between my ear and my mouth hasn’t got smaller since I bought it.

Real bitter only. Not bothered about the size of the brewery. Some nationals are good, some micros are crap. Good beer is good beer, doesn’t matter who made it.

If I go somewhere that only has lager or smooth beer, I’ll have cider or leave. Don’t mind cider in small doses but they’d have to pay me quite a lot to drink the other stuff.

Love the look of Guinness but can’t stand the taste.

Wine, total Philistine. Haven’t a clue and don’t like it much anyway. Didn’t mind German whites but now find Hock and Leibfraumilch too sweet and the next one down turns my face inside out.

Port, Taylors LBV. Could be a problem as Morrisons have just stopped keeping it, around here anyway.

Smirnoff Blue Label vodka, ideally from the continent as it’s cheaper and stronger (50%), with tonic or orange juice.

Non-alcoholic I know, but also tea, in large quantities.

There were a lot of large models, built and flown by David Boddington. I think I’m right in saying all the flying shots were done with models. The trouble with models is they don’t fly at scale speed, they’re too fast. Somebody came up with the idea of running the camera at higher speed and playing it back at normal speed. I think this was the first production it was done on.
