    Well done Jagan.

The published authors are going to outnumber the rest of us soon at this rate.

I came south down the M11 too but chose to ignore the Royston diversion.

Either we have the same imagination, or that contra-prop machine is a Spitfire on steroids! AWESOME! 😀

I agree too. It went up like a lift.

A good deal of those attending are probably still either nursing hangovers or away for the whole weekend.
I think I heard Ian say we (more accurately he as he’s the one that organises it) raised £150 for the Trust.

    Your going naked… 😮
What will you do with your hands?

Worry not, I’ll be at hand with my camera should you start to panic.

    I’m easy to spot…I’ll be carrying a Canon with a 100-400 on.. 😀 😀 😀

Narrows it down to a couple of hundred or so.

    Hi
first thoughts are the old ‘action stations’ series of books by PSL , maybe in your local library, failing this try a letter to the RAF Museum at Hendon , they might have some info or leads
    Cheers

Can’t get much more local than the next room, I’ll have a look soon. 🙂

I’ve got some references to the Trent Meteor somewhere, the problem is remembernig where.

Well, I’ll not be there on Sunday, am helping a buddy out with his Spitfire but I’ll be @ Duxford 2moro.
If you wanna look out for me, I’ll be wandering around with my camera 😉

Should be easy to identify then. 🙂

I’ve decided to follow Moggy’s policy for a change; leave the camera at home and watch the display. I have a nasty suspicion I’ll miss a lot of the show wondering where I’ve put the camera down.

Looking down the list I seem to be 2 or 3 adrift. There will be a slight pause before I start searching.

I haven’t read any of them for a long time. I’d better rectify that too.

I thought I’d got all of Nevil Shute’s books but I’ve never heard of Pilotage.

    Time to go searching.

I think the best thing we can do is put you in a box as soon as you arrive, to make sure you keep your thieving mitts off our airyplanes. 🙂

I’m sure I’ve got a book around somewhere written by a male ATA pilot, but I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it. IIRC it was one of my dad’s and is still at my mum’s lair but will be liberated in the foreseeable future.
Certainly the only one I recall ever seeing.

Google to the rescue: Fly and Deliver by Hugh Bergel.

The official opening time was 7pm. There were a good half a dozen people inside so they weren’t too shorthanded to open early for a thirsty mob.
With meals and booze, at a conservative estimate, that cost them 150 quid in turnover that night plus all the times since when we’ve gone straight to the Red Lion at Whittlesford Station without even considering anywhere else.

Not a particularly wise business decision.

IIRC, it was the one in Hinxton that couldn’t be bothered to let us in after the forum meet approaching a couple of years ago so we decamped to Whittlesford and never went back.
