Looking through the Putnam again, it says the Beaufighter II was slightly tail-heavy. That’s confused me.

It also says the Griffon plan was the Air Ministry’s idea, not Bristol’s.

    Ugliest D.H. aeroplane? A strong contender I think. 🙂

I wouldn’t say the Balliol was in anyway beautiful, but he’s right, it’s a Don and it’s an eyesore.

The swing on the Merlin powered versions was even worse, caused by the long engines.

Bristol Aircraft since whenever has the empty weights of the I and II as being the same. Seems unlikely to me. I would have thought the Merlin installation would be a fair bit heavier, and further forwards, needing tail weight to bring the CG back in limits.

Does anybody know why there is a shutter lag on a compact digi? It drives me mad.

When I press the shutter release it’s because I want a picture now, not soon.

The more Mosley waves the big stick the more certainty the teams are going to tell him to go forth and multiply when the current agreement runs out.

Money has certainly been a huge part of it. With the exception of Ferrari and Toyota, I’m sure it’s challenging to say the least to raise enough advertising sponsorship to fund an F1 team. In the meantime, Ecclestone is laughing all the way to several banks.

I suspect Mosley is now taking over from Ecclestone as the biggest problem.

Like many others I’d prefer to see G-VIXN in RN colours, but seeing how much she gets about, due I suspect entirely to her current scheme, it has to be said it’s good for the aircraft and the public.

I wasn’t expecting to be around today so didn’t plan anything. I wish now I’d gone down to Hucknall.

I would say that George Harrison is a very under-rated guitarist.

Excellent point, quite possibly the best candidate so far.

Sadly I never saw Gerry race but he was a legend even from a distance. 😀
