Tell you what, I would love that Vulcan Cockpit! It is so unique!

Apparently it is the only one of it’s type in existance, all I need is a bit of space, it has all 5 seats too, and it is a really worthy restoration project!

There is a sectioned one at Flixton, and the owner is going to post a special designed update on all Valiant cockpit survivors soon.

Hi there, what a marvellous effort all round, well done to all concerned!

As you may or may not know, we are part of a Living History Group “INTO THIN AIR” And one of our members will be wearing RAF Mid 1970’s F4 kit with full skeletal harness sometime over the weekend.

We will come and see you as it would be great to takes some shots next to the F4. Heres hoping for decent weather!

Aw Lincoln 7, chin up! Get some bottled beer in, (preferably Spitfire Ale) and stick the Battle of Britain on the telly! Slip on a Mae West (if you are lucky enough to own one) And shout at the top of you voice “ATTACK!ATTACK!ATTACK!ATTACK!ATTACK!” Periodically……………….

The site you mentioned here Michael, I have seen some very good sense talked about in stuff like oxygen mask preservation etc.

I would be most careful actually immersing the suit in any soap or detergent mix, as old cloth may just disintegrate (not always) but risky. Also if you sponge it it may develop rings and tidemark staining.

As for stuck zips, I rub a candle along them, but sometimes they are too badly corroded and will just rip away from the seam. All the Zips and poppers should be kept with the same backstamp if possible.

Think carefully before you commit, and do be careful about moths, as we have had an increase of these little critters!

Good luck with this rare item. Try Hendon, or even The V & A?

Cold War Jets at Bruntingthorpe has been mentioned a lot here, even a week after the main event! What does that go to show everyone? I say it was a fantastic effort, let’s all support CWJ by going to the next one!

Upward and Onward to all of you who made it all possible !! XX

I think it may be early eighties, because if you study one of the photos with the White Vulcan, there is a Talbot Alpine car, rather like mine, this one has 2 tone bodywork and appears to have the black bumpers (as opposed to the earlier white ones) Mmm…..

I was there too, and have to say it was one of the best I have ever been to there!

A little more Aeroboot would be nice? But we found the facilities and everything first class. Thanks you lot!

OK, I would like to see this BUCCANEER series too, so hopefully if we keep looking we will turn something up!

As for the AERONAUTS, it was screened in the early 70s on childrens TV I remember watching that after school – absolutely loved it! You can find clips of this on Youtube, I believe they also did some sort of remake of this? a few years back LE CHEVALIERS DU CIEL? I like The original version of the AERONAUTS Great planes and nice flight kit footage as I remember.

I have so many wants on my DVD list too!

If it is only a mock up so to speak – you could look in toy shops for plastic Deck Quoits? Size is 100% important, but it could be filled with balast to give correct weight? Painting and stringing will hide a multitude of sins?

    Good luck with your project.
