I’ve played Age of Empires: Age of Kings as well as the add on which included the Aztecs and Mayans. The game on a whole is ok just nothing special about it and the A.I. can be a bit annoying at times. Played the Star Wars games which were basically Age of Empires but with the characters from the movies. That was ok for a while just again got a bit boring (kill him, build that etc etc). Have been told about Homeworld before and I had the chance to buy it but passed it up for Star Trek Armada II which was great, loved the fact u could build the Cardassian Galor Class warship and the Romulan Bird of Prey.
If you have the chance to get them, get the American Conquest series of games. The offer a lot of fun and again u get to field huge armies, including merc’s u buy from native American tribes in exchange for gold. You can find them in the bargain bins and despite being older games they are addictive!
Will try to find Homeworld, I know it is quite a common game to see on the shelves 🙂

Good news so long as the Russians don’t take them from their own navy, given that Komsomolsk-no-Amur’s Sukhoi facility is mentioned I take it this will not be the case.
Thought the Chinese were thinking about the naval J-10, I presume if the naval J-10 goes ahead this carrier of theirs will be flying a mixed fleet. Hope to see licence production of the Sea Flanker, good looking bird.
Yay, another possible future Flanker operator. Just imagine, Argie Hinds, Hips and Frogfoots. Just one question, does Argentina have the funds for procuring these aircraft in significant numbers? Last time I heard, the Argies were lacking real cash
I have some sort of inbuilt 3D card, the PC I have was home made by someone (bought it second hand from Cash Con’) and to be honest I’m not sure exactly what I have but I do know I have played various other sims and 3D games in the past with no problems. As far as the screen goes, it’s a cheapy flatscreen built by Vusys.
You know, I’m surprised that despite the Iranians ability to reproduce the AH-1 Cobra and the Long Ranger and the ability of the Iranians to keep the F-4, F-14 and F-5 flying in addition to the ability to modify the F-5 into the Shafaq people still doubt their ability to fit a Russian missile onto an American plane…geez
As far as the Su-25s are concerned, AFM reports this month that 7 Frogfoots were acquired from Iraq and were refurbed by Georgian technicians. AFM adds that 3 Su-25UBKs and 3 Su-25Ts have now entered service with the Rev’ Guards which (obviously) brings the total up to 13 in service.
As far as the Tomcats go, again AFM comments that Iran has claimed to have modified the Hawk SAM to equip the Tomcat (which has been reported for ages) but AFM says observers are treating the announcement with scepticism due to the fact that the Hawks date back to the ’70’s and are unlikely to be still servicable. On a personal note, that’s what these observers said about the Tomcats and Phantoms…guess what? They’re still flying!!!
I never knew Somalia operated the Hunter, when and for how long?
Outside of the RAF and SAAF who else used it? Did it ever seen any acton in South African service?
I just watched “The death of Pelican 16″…or was it “15”??? on Discovery Wings. I must say when they showed the footage of the Shackleton taking off those engines were LOUD!!!
not in my world it isnt,…..Who decided on the name change?
your friendly neighbourhood junta..without any sort of approval from the people or their legislator….
Even the US governement doesnt reecognise the new name !!
OH NO…THE US GOVERNMENT DOESN’T RECOGNISE THE NAME…THAT OBVIOUSLY MEANS IT CAN’T BE THE REAL NAME THEN!!!
Some people make me laugh…we sit here moaning about the US invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan then say “Why don’t they do something about MYANMAR???”
I have followed the WWII intensively on DISCOVERY CHANNEL for almost 2 years.
Well you obviously weren’t following it very well if you don’t know the Yanks and Brit’s supplied the Soviet Union with a s*** load of weapons…INCLUDING Spit’s, Aircobras, Hurricanes, Mossies (and B-24’s I believe)…even Sherman tanks!!! The Soviets didn’t exactly fight “alone” either…there were volunteer French and British Squadrons (at least during the early part of the war) fighting WITH the Soviets…the Soviets even acknowledge that it was a British Squadron flying Hurricanes (it WAS Hurricanes correct???) that defended Moscow during Barborossa.
The Bulgarians fought against the Soviets as volunteers (sorry should have cleared that up)…basically Bulgarians in German uniforms as did French, Swedish, Norweign, Belgian etc etc men who wanted to fight the spread of communism into Europe).
Most soon forget, that Russia (and all of the allies, for that matter) got huge help, with fighters, trucks, and other weapons from the U.S. in WWII.
And most Americans forget the Allies even existed!!! You do know, right, that it was probably the fact that Germanys war on the Eastern Front took up 75% of it’s air and land forces that enabled the Americans and Brit’s to even land troops on D-Day!!!
It was the Soviet advances that gave Germany the kick up the Jacksie it needed to put it on the defensive, not British and American bombing!!! The Soviets were also taking on Rumanian, Bulgarian, Italian (yes they did fight on the Eastern front) and Hungarian armies as well as volunteers from Norway, France, Yugoslavia (and 2 dozen other nations) and eventually lending support in the war against Japan.
The Russians were not beaten during the First World War, the fact that the people had had enough and the place erupted into civil war had NOTHING to do with German victories…even Germany admitted it was releaved when the Russian Civil War erupted due to the STALEMATE on the Eastern front.
May be a Blue Thunder sequel…looks like some crazy homebuild kit though…if it is a sequel to Blue Thunder lets hope the pilot doesn’t mistake the a train track for his helipad this time :diablo:
