I actually used to work on a site that was haunted, I was a security guard there and at night we would patrol all the corridors – I won’t say where just for security sake – behind the venues. One night, well early morning actually, another guard and myself found the public toilets flooded. not that spooky I hear u say, well bare with me. These toilets had been closed by the property owners for a long time and all the water had been disconnected, so where was the water coming from. I was about to switch the lights on and go in when suddenly we both heard foot steps slooshing in the water. We both froze and called out, but nobody answered. We agreed to hold the door open with a breeze block (the corridor outside was being used to store building equipment) and go in both of us armed with Maglite torches held high above our heads. The floor was covered in about an inch of water but there was no sign of leaking pipes. Suddenly we both felt a cold chill rush over our bodies and felt as if something or someone wanted us out, then the slooshing returned with ripples of washing across our feet. Needless to say we both ran like hell. When the morning cleaners came we had both calmed down…the other guard in the control room refusing to believe our story but refusing to check the toilets also. We told the cleaners there had been a flooding, when the cleaners went down to check it out, the floor was bone dry. A week after I had left the company, I found out from one of the pub landlords that a man had been drowned in the toilets a two years to the day, his head had been pushed down the toilet causing a massive flood by a man who had spent the day in the cubicle opposite waiting for a victim. If that ain’t bad enough, the toilets had been closed because people complained of feeling like they were being watched. NOW THAT’S SCARY!!! :dev2: :dev2: :dev2:

Grey Area, the housing issue I am referring to was a couple of years back in a largely Muslim area of Birmingham, West Midlands. It was felt by the council that the newly built houses should be occupied by Bangladeshi’s only as many Bangaldeshi familes did not want to integrate with other communities…that includes Indian/Pakistani communities btw. Many people complained as there was at the time, and I believe there still is, a housing problem and houses being built for one community rather upset many people on the council waiting lists not of that grouping. This was especially as the decision contradicted the councils “Pro-Integration” policies at the time.
Also, again a couple of years back, Asian companies that did not want to hire other ethnic groups managed to find a loop-hole that allowed them to hire only Asians without being accused of racism by stating that the job applicants would be required to speak Bengali or Urdu. This was during a time when jobs in Brum were at an all time low and many people — not just English but also various ethnic groups — found this irritating. Some Asian business’s still do this btw, if you go to one of the job centres and look thru the job lists u will find the occasional one with the same requirements. U can argue that this is not discrimination, but u try telling someone desperate for a job that it is ok to do this and I bet he/she will have a thing or two to say 😡

This is nothing new to Britain, does anyone remember the housing estate for Bangladeshi families only or the job vacancies being advertised for Asians only? Lets face it, Britain likes to keep the minorities happy at the majorities expense. I’m not being racist or trying to discriminate btw, I have many black and asian friends including many muslims and they all ask me what the hell is going on in this country…and when u have muslims questioning why the government is so keen to bend over backwards to suit them then u have to laugh. 😀

Funny, that’s what they said about tanks when the attack helicopter was born
Ok, have the Swedes got something against the Russians or something? There is me thinking u were nice people!
And as GarryB said, something sounds rather dodgy about relying on eyes to detect incoming choppers? If the Soviets had decided to invade and all u had were eyes to detect their waves of Hips and Hinds u guys would have been *******ed big time, Bofors or no Bofors :diablo:
U know Jonesy, I can be just as objective as u can and I never said China is NOT a threat I simply am trying to say that it is NOT the evil state hell bent on taking over SE Asia that many people keep claiming it is. There are many nations in this world that are just as worrying as China, I can think of at least three others that Australia needs to keep an eye on: India, Indonesia and of course Taiwan itself who also has claims to the Spratleys.
To avoid straying off subject again I shall return to the Hornet thing. Why does the RAAF not just buy the “Super Bug”? Despite all the moaning and groaning on this thread about the E/F it is a good plane that would provide the Aussies with a capable aircraft that would see off all potential enemies? Or am I missing something? :p
Just an update on that story about the kidnapped Russkie, apparently the decpaitation of the terrorist was a response to the ear thing. Meant to say “Treat him nicely from now on or else”, I have been told that the kidnappers were known to be directly funded by the new regime in Iran. The Soviets despatched a member of the KGB to Tehran and after much negotiating he was allowed to see the Ayotollah – however the hell u spell it. With him was a briefcase. The Ayotollah was handed the briefcase and inside he found numerous satellite photo’s of terrorist training camps in North Africa and in Iran. The Russian asked “Do you know what these are?” Them being the main training camps for Palestinian groups. The Ayotollah just nodded. The Russian then informed him that if the Ambassador was not released within 36 hours the same photos and exact co-ordinates would be handed to contacts in Tel Aviv as well as “additional information”. After the Russian left the Iranians allegedly got on the phone and ordered the release of the Ambassador, 36 hours later he was handed to a plain-clothed Spetznaz unharmed….except for the ear of course

Well are we forgeting who the people of Taiwan are or something? U do know they are the Nationalist Chinese that evacuated to the ISLAND and created Taiwan, I believe it was called Formosa or something. So how can we argue that China does not have a territorial claim to the ISLAND when it always was part of China??? Thats like saying Great Britain can’t claim territorial rights over Cornwall for Heavens sake. Oh, and speaking of making dubious claims, did u know Taiwan has maintained a territorial claim on regions of Mongolia!!! Pot and Kettle springs to mind, the only reason Taiwan hasn’t threatened to invade is probably because it’s so bloody far away!!! Oh yeah, and that damn wall is a bit of a nuisance too :diablo:
No stealth??? No way!!! That thing has gotta have a large signature, right? 😮
