Boring -another A vs. B thread.

To the topic 7e7 vs A350
We can not say nothing, yet !! Everything is just rumors. Gosh, my god now we are argueing about to planes who haven´t took off the drawing board, but we all now already their performances. Let´s wait untill both planes fly – or are officially launched (A350).

Nice Pics. Wie kam es zu der Ehre ?
Well, it´s good to see the F-4 flying around for a couple of years before the “flying triangle” will replace it !!
The F-4F and the F-104 are by far the the most beautiful planes that served in the Luftwaffe – maybe the Mig 29, too, but I am not that much into russian planes.

Boeing’s innovative 757 reaches the end of the line

the 757 line is closed. anyway a narrow body as a tanker?

The 757 has the same sized fuselage as the 707
    😉

It is likely that LH will buy them, since they are looking for a replacement of their 737-300 and 500s. So it is possible that they will buy the 717 and more A319 as a 737 replacement, so both manufacturers would be happy.
Besides LH was interested in the 717 before.

P.S. I personally would hope for a 737 order -since LH is the “birth-mother” of the 737 and there have to be a 737 in the LH-fleet !!
According to this it doesn´t look to bad for a 737 order :

How exactly does electronic voting mean that Bush (and presumably by your comments, non-liberal Republicans) gets elected? And no, Bush won’t “keep winning into eternity”. This is his second and last term, the Constitution limits Presidents now to two terms.

A constitution can be changed. I think that Roosevelt had a third term due to WW II.
If the threat of terrorism is getting bigger I believe Bush could get some support for a third term, it depends on the situation. I don´t hope that this situation is getting so that this will ever happen !!

Do you mean the older B2 and B4 Version ? Or do you also count the A300B4-600 ? That would be as pax-planes Lufthansa, American Airlines Quatar, Emirates and a couple more, then there are also a lot of freighters (FEDEX, UPS).
There are also some older version flying around. I believe some turkish charter airlines are flying 1st generation A300´s.

    Greetz

    P.S.
One question why do some goverments tend to the A310 as a tanker/transport plane and not the A300-600. I believe there are more A300 flying around then A310-300 (the -200er´s are definetly not a good choice for military use due to range etc…).

To all of you anti-Bush people….
    Get over it!
Here’s a news flash for you…America isn’t Europe or Canada, so don’t exect the all Americans to share your views.
If you don’t like the way the majority of Americans voted, fair enough, but keep your insults to yourself.

Well I hope that soon al this Euro vs. America Bull**** comes to an end. Both sides have to understand that all the future challenges have to be faced and dealed with together.

America needs Europe as well as Europe needs America.
Blind Patriotism and “We are the greatest nation of the world-attitute” and mocking “euro-whinnies” leads to nothing as the “we know everything better, can do everything then the dumb amies”-attitude of some Europeans.

Most of the European politicians have no realised that and I think the Bush-Administration did this aswell. But if I see some posts here and in other international forums (especially a-net) postet from people of both sides of the pond I am getting sick !!
I am not a friend of Bush -I surley can say that -because I can´t deal with his religious believes and the way it affects his politics. But I am great friend of America and the american people.
We in Europe have to live with “W”´s and GOP´s foreign politics for more 4 years wether we like it or not but I hope that in this 4 years the gap between Europe and the US is not getting bigger.

Bury the hatchet on both sides and stop this crap, please !!

As a former West-Berliner I have a special relationsship to Pan Am and their 727s – so that news is very sad for me : Pan Am gone but not forgotten.

P.S. The other day I saw an old Honda Civic here driving in Berlin white with Pan Am Markings, I believe it was once oned by Pan Am, I remember cars liked this parked on the ramp at TXL next to an A310, B727 or ATR 42.

I guess you’re right. However Boeing did nothing else with the 747 and 737 and those birds still are successful.

I guess that the failure comes more from marketing and performance issues.

Yeah, but I guess Boeing did more improvemts on the 737/747 as MDD did with the MD 11/MD 90. What helped Boeing in opposit to MDD was that they had also medium airliners like the 757/767, while MDD only had one narrow body and one long haul wide body and nothing in between.
Anyway sad that MDD is gone.
