Think Kermit Weeks is a possible flyer and that another aircraft is in Canada rest to fly, the Fighter Collections went to the US I beleve.
There was one untill a few years ago based in France I beleve dont know if she is still flying though,
The one and only time I saw one was about 4 years ago, haveing a fry up at home when there was this noise of an airplane sounded like a DC3 was went out side to have a look,
next thing I said was WTF as it lumberd over head, no photos sadly
Beleve the work has just not been there for her, great shame would love to have flown on her.
Beleve Harvest Air used a fleet of 7 or 8 Islanders with a yellow and black checker tail.
She come over Southend soon after 5pm heading back to Duxford…
strange thing is all work on the jet stopped when she came into view…
Must be Southend 1986, Concorde, Wallis Autogyro (bizzare to me at the time) and Catalina sea landing

I have extensively reseached the accident:
Monday September 10th 1951: RAF Gloster Meteor F8 VZ519 of 84sqn flown by Pilot Officer Lionel Millikin broke up in mid air over Westcliff, fuselage crashing onto Hainault Avenue, 88 Beedell was destroyed, wreckage was strewn across Ramaz Drive & Brightwell Avenue as well, the Pilot was attempting to get to Southend Airport when the aircraft broke up his body was found 20p minites after the crash still strapped in his seat.
An engine was recoverd from near Southend Pier. Those killed on the ground were: Mr S Smith & Mrs A M Gilbert with Mrs F Sydenham dieing later in Southend Genreal Hospital. The accident also injured Mr H Duck.
The aircraft had previouls been grounded for repairs to stree damage it had incurred.
Hope this is of intrest…silly question really!
Beleve it closed down years back
Sea Hawk is WM961
Sea Venom XG629
Bouchon is a Replica built for Bob Film
Comet & Argossy both going into hangar one I have herd
Lets hope thats true about the Argosy getting a roof over its head they must only be two or three left complete.
She was on display for many years, I beleve before she was at the Southend Musuem she was displayed on or close to Victoria Avenue, Southend
Saw her either the day before or a couple of days before circling over Southend with a Spitfire and Hurricanne closely followed by a RAF Jetstream of all things, the most anoying thing is I did not have my camera with me, a reall kick in the dangly bits.
Only got to see her two or three times from what I can rember deffo North Weald 96 and Southend 94
Cheers, the help been doing a bit of sorting out and dug out 5 never been opened Wessex seat covers (well found six but I’m keeping one) just was thinking about donating the rest to museums who have the type.
I’ll e-mail a few see if they want any, I think the smaller museums THM & Tangmere should have first choise, two each if they are intrested so who get the last one thats if the other four go!
