The Lanc is to make a fly past with two Tornados, or so I’ve been told. As for the Sea Hawk have they flown her yet os are they still waiting for straps?
She was out of limits with the cross wind.
shame cos she is a great little aircraft.
Missing Word: b******s
clue: men have two women have none…
WW2 aircraft dont have an FI they are operated on a condition basis.
Think about it, WW2 the Spit’s had the ******** flown off them to keep the UK free if they had an FI each aircraft would only of had a life span of weeks possibly months.
NEWS FLASH:
The Lowestoft Harrier has its first engine runs since its dunking last year!
Anywhere is a good view best shots Easten taxiway
Southend allways worth a visit its free free parking at any C2C station and lots and lots of flying.
Sea Vixen
Hunter
MH53
Catalina
to name but a few.
I’m going.
If your going to the airport get there early, where else can you get within touching distance of the taxiing aircraft?
She’s on her way to Biscarrosse (France?)
due back in the UK on Sunday 23rd at Southend arround 22:00, however the flight may be delayed untill Monday (24th), the Cat will remain at Southend untill the Southend Airshow on Sunday 30th & Monday 31st May when she will make her first UK airshow apperance. :p
Sussex…hmmmm….Sussex
I know thats in Scotland! silly me.
Not got a clue…
its booked to be static at Kemble
and display at Shoreham though
One of the regular southend spotters told me….
…I’m not a spotter though…honest… :p
Just checked Wrecks & Relics,
Prentice G-AOPY surrived up untill 1975 according to Wrecks & Relics issue 5.
wonder if anyone got any photos of it?
I beleve the Southend Airport Prentice has been sold and has flown out to her new owner.
What many people don’t know is that if the two aircraft had landed safely they were going to re-fuel and depart to the first Southend Airshow.
they were replaced in the flying display by a vampire and venom, and possibly a widgoen sea plane cant remember.
Beleve so.
however last I heard it was in Great Massingham, Norfolk pending either shipping or a UK based restoration! yes please!
