It is indeed hucknall airfield just off watnall road in the town.Its a good little event and for under a tenner you get a good afternoons display,weather permitting of course.
MH434 up from duxford was scene over quorn village in leicestershire at 4.05 doing a display for the great central railway war weekend.
There supposed to be at some point on Sunday afternoon a display by a spitfire but looking at the weather forecast i think this may now not happen.
Funny you should say about the cessna,at the air field where i found the tyre there used to be one used for parachute drops but as the airfield was used by the raf and Canadian airforces i thought the tyre was older than it appears to be. Thanks Alan
Just had a look and got some details.6ply rating,max load 1750lbs and max speed 120mph.It is heavily worn on one edge as if something was out of line.
There was a white and blue one doing para drops at the parachute school at langar,notts a year or two ago.
I do hope that everyone that has been involved in what has been one of the most exacting and authentic restorationrebuilds in recent times gets a mention,they all deserve the recognition.
