    The guy said he saw a metallic content to the rubber of the tyre but the tyre was off the rim at the time.He was offered two more complete and fitted to tail wheel legs.

    At approx 9.30am a chipmunk was seen heading north approx 6 miles north of nottingham,colour scheme unknown but looked to be a dark colour.

    I know the family that own the airfield and have had a couple of guided tours around the airfield which is very well preserved and mostly intact.I always feel a touch of sadness when i travel past as a number of air crew lost their lives in crashes near the road that travels along side the airfield.

    Don,t forget that the 109 held a closed circuit speed record prewar although i think it was a specially prepared aircraft and not a production one.

    As i do volunteer work at a heritage site in the area and was not needed for the bdo it was good that i could come to the museum,also managed to get in some of the cockpits and aircraft that were open.Good luck with the v-force event,planning to revisit again soon. Alan
