Not sure about burtonwood but she did spend some time at RAF Colerne.
Last Sunday afternoon about 1-30pm a hurricane and merlin engined Spitfire from bbmf were seen heading north to the north of nottingham.
You can thank BBMF pilot Paul godfrey for the display,he is on a social media site as @godderstwit.
I went on sat as well and to me it was the best attended event there for years.I spent most of the day at the runway in use end of the site and got cracking landing and take off movie shots. It was a great afternoon with warbirds, classic vintage aircraft and for me the ground running rolls-royce merlin 113 from the RRHT was simply fantastic,a former mosquito engine i believe.I do hope its on again next year. For just 0„55 its a cracking way to spend a sat afternoon. Many thanks to the organisers for giving me an excuse not to go shopping!! Alan
Mark, heading north around at that location is heading towards leicestershire not away from it so unlikely to be from the gcr.Its proberbly a replica heading back home in the north.

Yesterday about 1pm a merlin hc1 did a very low pass to the rear of my house.Est height was about 150ft at about 150yrds!, low and close to where my house is.It landed at nottingham airport, stayed for around 40mins then was seen to head east then follow the A46 south at low altitude.
The red/white and grey scheme is just how i remember her.I had just one flight in her with the late derick brooks in 1983 around our local area.Happy times and glad shes still flying although along way from where she used to be based. Many thanks chaps Alan
