I always thought he was nearer 2,000 years ago.
Ha Ha indeed! Speaking of Christ I must watch ‘life of Brian’ again soon!
It can land at Duxford but needs a 15 knot head wind from memory? In the past we used to be based out of Cambridge airport for Duxford weekends as the runway is longer.
Thanks Stewart that makes sense!
Amazing photos…very rare opportunity to see ‘under the cowling’ on these rare Aircraft. Looking forward to further updates/photos!
Being a forum where i hope everyone is entitled to an opinion (accepting i have an emotional tie) i hope i can post some positive experiences relating to the RAF Museum.
I am now 32, and ever since a young age (just remember the Beverly!) my Dad would take me to Hendon. My dads father flew for the Luftwaffe which sparked (i asume!) the interest in aviation!
It may not be Duxford as a ‘live’ Airfield or have the illumination standards of many other museums, but what it does posses is…a genuine Heinkel 111, a Lancaster that flew over 100 missions and a real Sopwith Camel.
I guess what im trying to say is you have to appreciate the exhibits and not the surroundings. Everytime i visit Hendon i respect and appreciate the rich diverse content and just wanted to provide some positive feedback.
As stated above merly an opinion on my own experiences of the Museum and enjoy reading fellow ‘forumites’ opinions regardless of their views.
(p.s anyone else miss the galleries in the main halls?!)

🙂 Facebook is just full of video and photos with everyone feeling and saying the same, what a wonderful but sad sight. She has certainly reached out to most people.
Agreed…”the vulcan effect”
I am really enjoying reading peoples comments and emotions around the country, and what the vulcan means to people. I have a lump in my throat as the reality is dawning that the end is near where we will never see her in the sky again
Great to read everyones posts and personal experiences today as we all watch the Vulcan. I got very emotional watching her fly over Brize today as she banked off towards Bicester. I remember my Dad taking me in 1992 to watch her at Abingdon before she retired the first time as a little boy. Now today it will be for the last time. Amazing aircraft thank you for the memories XH558
All I know is she is due over Bicester. 185 minutes after take off ? Don’t know when that was / is………..
Jules
Thanks Jules!
the website appears to keep crashing so i cant check times for today. Would anyone be kind enough to post on here? i just wish to get an indication as to when she will be over RAF Brize Norton.
Many Thanks
I remember seeing this gannet when I was a boy on the Cirencester ring road in someone’s garden…I hope one day someone finds the funding it deserves to look after her
Great photos! Anyone know why Frankie is not on the attendees list for Legends?
