Interesting. First of all it is interesting to see that they are going to fit the 7E7 engines to the 747. If I remember correctly did Boeing not caim that fitting such engines to an old airframe woud be impossible in regards to a possible Airbus update of the A330 to compete with the 7E7 ??

It also shows that even Boeing must see a market for large airliners in the future.

Overall new 747s are always good news.

Not a fair comparison; the Su-27 carries a load more internal fuel.

I know, but that is what I wanted to show.

    Spain probably.

But the time of national projects is over. Even the countries that have the ability to built there own fighter aircraft, can no longer afford the money to do this. In the end the developing countries will also face this fact.

If you can cover it up easily I see no problems for a pilot. They are not considered service personal and I think the rules are more relaxed there.

    [QUOTE=Srbin]

Biggest threat to dedicated CAS aircraft are UCAV and MLRS with smart subammo, not thin-skinned fastmovers with PGMs.
    [/quoite]
To be honest I don’t know about MLRS as I don’t know much about it but UCAVs are not mature enough yet, I don’t think they are yet.

Not exactly, you could still have aircraft like F-16 engage tanks and other targets and drop PGMs from a medium-high altitude, much like they did in GWI and without the support of ground troops.

The last war is never the next war you will fight. Even Allied Force showed how usefull that method is if the enemy just uses basic passive defensive tactics to hide their forces.
And that role is not CAS, but battlefield interdictiion. CAS means support to friendly forces in contact.

    Cheers everyone!

I’ll have to have a look at the Dermablend to see what sort of finish it gives.

As for the summer short sleeve shirt, don’t think the airline need issue one….I’m in Scotland, haven’t seen the sun since 1994 🙂

    DME

What career field are you looking at. Most airlines don´t mind Tattoos with pilots, but do mind visible Tattoos with flight attendants. I think as a fa you will have to wear the sommer uniform, as you will fly to the parts of europe were summer is really reality. 😉

If you are more into check-in personal or other ground based service personal then I think it is much less of a problem.

But it is hard to tell without having seen the Tattoo.

That is what I´m saying, before you can drop the old CAS aircrafts you must update the ground forces. Only if they can join in the netcentric communication network and communicate data directly with the supporting aircraft, then you can do without those aircrafts.

Without integrated ground troops all those fancy JDMAs, LGBs or whatever becomes worthless. Then your fancy aircraft have to go down and dirty and hand deliver the ordnance the old way. That is when some armour and loiter time makes mores sense then stealth, speed and extreme manouverability.

Interseting is th fact, that they skipped all further tests. That most mean that it is something serious. Not a fault only happening under certain conditions that could be avoided while a fix is constructed. This fault must affect large parts of the flying envelope in a way that further testing seems senseless to the manufacturer. There must be major problem with the engine.
Imho waiting for the Kaveri to become fully ready for service will kill the LCA as a viable combat airplane. It will also require the IAF to operate older types much longer then it sensefull for safety and economical reasons.
We should also not forget, that only a few crashes of Kaveri equipped LCAs (and an engine faillure mostly means a crash in asingle engined fighter) will kill most export chances.
LCA must be made ready, so now is the time to talk about a bigger biy of GE-404 engines and get the airframe production rolling.

According to Aero International it means new wings, a lighter fuselage (more composites – as on the wings) and new engines.

If it can be covered by the normal flight uniform, then it is no problem. Many female flight attendance have a small tattoo on their shoulder or above the ass. Which you can easily spot on their overnights at PMI.

If it can not be covered by their flight uniform (winter and sommer) then it might be a problem. Unfortunately many airlines have short sleeve uniform for the male staff during the summer.
