Hmm, well both planes would have the same chance in an air to air combat with an SU-§X series opponent. 😀
Here is another picture I recently took over the french alps.

You think they should retire the F-4’s and focus on the F-16’s seahawk?
Yes, from a budget point of view they should. (But my heart would be crying if they would)

I’ve seen a Hungarian major getting out of his MiG-21 after having flown a number of 7- and 8G maneuvres (it was the Fishbed’s retirement ceremony, so they could beat the airframes a bit). He didn’t wear a G-suit. WarPac pilot selection always included the candidate being tested to withstand G-forces. While this makes a lot of sense, i don’t think it is done in the West.I’m sure Viper can confirm or deny this.
It is done in Germany at least. 🙂
Pilots have to be able to take 9g for a certain time in a centrifuge.
Exactly – was not too hard, was it ??

Well anyone could use an An-124, you should buy only a few of them to transport military equipment.
If you only want to tranport it wthin your borders and your country is not really big, then I would think that rail transport / street transport are much cheaper. 🙂
guess the airport 😀

BA always looks good

my best ones from 2004

Then plz accept my apologies. I did not mean to insult or discredit you in any way.
I hope you will enjoy this forum and let me give you a very warm welcome. 🙂
More upgraded and servicelife extended F-4s for Turkey would be too nice to be true. I guess this time they would upgrade the used US examples or could it be that those might be ex IDF/AF F-4s ??
On a more serious note, when looking at Turkish airforce iventory I think it would be more prudent to save the money for more important things.
I agree this is getting ridiculous. If you look at the threats described for that “built your airforce scenario”.
1. Uzbekistan – the stronger military in the region, with small numbers of Su-27, MiG-29 and Su-24 (less than 200 aircraft all together last time I checked). They have a very severe problem of respecting your borders.. often they’ll do their militant and rebel chasing thing into YOUR territory.. and infact in the late 90’s an Su-24 violated your airspace and accidentally bombed a village. They are not against your government in particular..but feel like because they have power, they are free to conduct whatever operation they want into your territory if needed.. they also use some political leverages for your water supply, such as energy threats.
2. Tajikstan – a place near anarchy and lawlessness.. Your country has had several occasions where militant groups stationed in this country, will cross into your border regions causing havoc.. the government of Tajikstan has no power over it.
Well I would give the FC-1 a real possibility of a reduced frontal RCS compared to other current chinese export fighters. Although I´m certain that J-10 should be a step ahead.
Well I really doubt you did even come close to Berlin. You might have seen Cologne and Düsseldorf airports. Berlin would be the opposite direction from FRA.
and waht would they use ASW helos for ??
Honestly I think they should only upgrade about one wing of A-10s and give them to Special Forces. There they could be a perfect partner to the AC-130. Same cruise speed, same alltitude. They would make a very good CAS combo for SOF.
In the regular Air Force it has lost its use. Rather get some more new F-16s and be happy to have some new built planes again.
Much more usefull then spending money on such a Vietnam/Cold War relict.
Look in the F-4 Thread I started
many airforces also offer downloads on their sites.
