Let us think about it. They want to spent 10 Billions and want a workshare of 5 Billions. That means they want to have 50% of the money returned to them. If all other JSF partners demand the same, it means that the US would have to pay 50% of all their purchases. Not going to happen.

It seems, however, that the F-22 pilots can do that stunt regularly against F-15 and F-16s. Even against the Nellis agressors. However F-15s and F-16s are probably the easiest target for an american F-22. They knew their capabilities and the weakness. And neither carries an IR tracking system. Most russian and european fighters do. A foight against RFs with PIRATE and a fully softare ready Captor could be more interesting. There are certain rumors about captor..

That is what was to be expected of an F-22 – nothing more and nothing less. If they could not do that, there would have to be a real fault in one oft the Raptors systems. Expecially if the F-15s used the tactics they are used to. It all favors the Raptor.

And I realyl think 2 EF could beat 5 Eagles with ease. EF with PIRATE against F-22 would be more interesting.

It is 8 out of total 40 for F-16. so 20% loss. similar or more is for M2k if u include hanger loss. MIG-29 is 6 out of 70. less than 10 %. so gap is 100% if u want to look at raw statistics.

And 100% would have to be expected.

Well the ADF was exported to Jordan and Italy, to be correct. And if 1,5 F-16 are losts in normal use compared to 1 MiG-29, then it speaks a lot for the F-16, as it di in fact perfrom 50% better, as it is single engined.

    SOC m8, give it up.

    Just accept that the US lost a wing of B-52, a dozen B-1 about an equal number of B-2s, around 10 F-117, 30 F-15s, 70 F-16s, 18 F-14s, 36 F-18s, 85 A-7, 102 A-10 and various helicopters.
    NATO also lost 50 Tornados, 20 Mirages, 55 F-104s, 78 G.91, 112 F-4, 89 F-86 and various other aircraft.

The MiG-29 probably was the best dogfighter of its generation nad at least equal to anything the west could put into the air, even today.

Unfortunately only limited combat ready monkey models have been used in combat afainst the west, while facing overhelming odds and overhelming numbers. Yet there are rumors, that the MiG got one british Tornado, damaged 1 F117 , one A-10 and probably one F-18. Given the circumstances this happened it it not bad.

During the whole service life it was more advanced then the F-16 and was the better dogfighter. Today version are second to none.

Can we now get over it and end that discussion… ? If you want you do some cheering and then be done with it.

Aurel: mate where did that come from? Noone has mentiones Kriegsmarine at all, what are you smoking? Please share it around!!!

Spectral: Thanks for that mate but from the info you haven’t answered my question and now you’ve given me more questions.

    1. Does Portugal have plans to upgrade their fleet to a common standard?

    2. 60+03 ——– P-3C CUP coast guard version , Is this machine going to replace the Elint Atlantic in German service thus not needing the full CUP upgrade?

    3. Where will the German machines be based and with which sqdn?

    4. Where will the Portugeas base their machines and with which sqdn?

    5. Does the FAP operate a forward airbase that these could be operated out of?

    6. What is the most likely mission profile for the FAP models? Can we expect to see them floating around the skies half way out in the atlantic or will they just fly around the coast of Portugal?

    2. We will jave UAVs (EuroHawk) replacing the ELINT birds

    3. MFG 3 will operate them
