I still see no failure of the RoCAF but I see that the ship probably perfromed as it wa expected to. If it was designed to carry dangerous materials it probably was heavily compartmentalized. And was porobaly desigend to survive an explosion in one or two of the compartments.

The problem is that developing a new fighter costs the same, no matter if you buy 1 airfram or 1000 afterwards. So it only makes sense if you need a certain number of airframes to justify the development costs. This fact alone makes it senseless for most countries.

Well DUS had 15,5 million Üax last year and expects over 16 Mill. next year, as they got more slots. Traffic wise it can not compete with MAN, when it comes to widebodies. A 747 is rare, as is a A340. You get the usual LTU A330 and some 767s every now and then.
If you go on the 25th of June you should see every turkish charter operator flying. .

If you need help finding a hotel let me know. And sure i would be around for a meeting. 😉

If I may suggest 24th and 25th June, as this is the start of the holiday season in the region and normaly the bussiest days of the year. Especially the sunday.

Just +2°C but we have that weather for months now. And I am tired of it. If we would have had some real snow it would have been ok, but that just over freezing weather is just awful.

I think the Durch could count on a large sclae european support in that case. IK, France surely. Belgium, Italy and Spain likely. And perhaps even the Germans would decide to sent an army hospital or two to the next secure airport in the region.

I just wonder why the authorities, both Chinese and Russian, would allow this to happen.

PR stunt. That is something no westenr competitor will every be able to match, simply because they would never be allowed to try. It is like the displays of the Russian Knights, they are amazing, but western teams would never be allowed to do some maneuvers after the disaster at Rammstein. Imagine a western pilots flying between to apartment buildings, I bet that would be his last flight for the rest of his life.
