OK – for the very very final time……
Bmused55 and another member received a final warning 7 days ago as a result of their behaviour on the Forum and following a number of complaints about them both from a variety of other members over a sustained period of time
In that warning, among other things, I told them both that if they continued to show disrespect for other members then I would ban them temporarily.
Following this, we continued to receive complaints about Bmused55 – again from more than one member.
Since we had already issued a final warning, we had no option but to impose a ban on Bmused55.
What use is a final warning if it is not final?
I know that Bmused55 is a very popular member of this Forum but that popularity does not exempt him, or anyone else, from the Code of Conduct.
From the above thread, it seems that some of you would like me to moderate in an uneven-handed manner with one set of rules for a self-appointed favoured few, and another set for the rest.
This I will not do under any circumstances. There are no “untouchables” in this Forum, myself and Matthew included.
Judging by my own experience you wonßt be able to keep that up. I thought about it the same way, when I started moderating at antoer forum. (not hard to guess) Regular and old time posters are at risk to be attacked from other posters quite regularly. Especially if their opinions are a problem for some people. It is not unknown that some people will (either use multiple accounts or) bring in friends from other forums to get rid of the person they have decided to pick on.
I donßt know what lead the the bann and I´m sure their moderators had their reasons, but I really hope he returns. I like Bmused55 and I think his contribution has become very valuable in the past.

A sorry my mistake. I was thinking bs.
At the moment the 747ADV is just a well done FUD campaign by Boeing. With a press releases like that, they want to put pressure on Airbus. They probably hope that Airbus will make a too early first flight or encounter serious problems with the A380, then they will launch the 747ADV as the safer alternative to the A380.
If the A380 meets the promises made by Airbus (I would not bet on that), then Boeing will most likely never launch the 747ADV.

Yes the old DC-7 is still there. I had the best light to get it late in the afternoon.
Btw : the restaurant I can only recommend if you like some real canary food is just 2 minutes away by car. Drive the road that brings you to the DC-7 further along with the direction of San Augustin. Leave at the exit “Playa de Aquillia”. Use the tunnel to go under the large road. You read a round about (surprise 😉 ). Leave it to the left so that you come to the driveway leading back to the road you just left, but going into the other direction (back to the areodrome). At the end of the driveway there is a restaurant called “Los Pescadores” (small sign only). You can park your car right in front of it, on the right side of the large road. It is surely worth a visit.
Back to spotting at LPA :
I had no problems with the security last year. They have military police patrols, normal police patrols and a civilian security company patrol. Neither seemed interesting in what we were doing.
I would recommend to stay a few metters away from the fence. And I would surely not recommend bringing a ladder.
Only the spots on the northern end of the runways ca ngie you trouble, as they are closer to the barracks of the military base.

Looking at the layout of the Crusader, I´m not sure it could fire the belly pack missiles in the a-g role. The way the pack extends on the back of the F-8 the plane would have to make a very steep dive to bring those rockets into line with the target. And firing those when pulling postive Gs does also not seem a good idea.
I don´t see Greece buying an American product. I think they will find few postive reactions if the buy american and have to explain how they could not keep their budget within the restrictions, they agreed to, when joining the Euro currency.
You mean the 757 and not the A320/319s – do you ?
