My Dad trained as a Wop/Ag, the air gunner course (from what he told me) was a standard course that all Ag’s went through, although he ended up as wireless & later radar op on Wellingtons for the duration of WWII.

Been watching their progress on Facebook, got to say had some reservations at first if they could get it looking ‘right’ (what with being Americans & all 😉 ) but needn’t have worried as the pictures clearly show attention to detail that would put a lot of preserved air-frames over here to shame.

Aircraft tyres are generaly of a very high ply rating, thus giving the appearence of being inflated (when not under load) when they’re actually not, a bit like those dreadful ‘runflat’ tyres of the 70’s/80’s.
