That’s Spitfireman (Baz)
Re post #4 I just coincidentally found these pics, me and Spitfireman picking over the mortal remains of the T.4 at Mawgan.
Aswel as the large clear nose section and a number of u/c legs we found five firewalls, so more than one Shack there.
Trip down memory lane again, recall going on the second expedition to recover these items (think we failed:o ), also recall the BCU wagon shedding parts like a stripper on the journey back 😀
I can clearly recall spending the afternoon perched atop the F.A.S.T Caravan at Fairford a few years back, great vantage point, eh Pagey? 😀

Whatever next? The banning of step ladders at airshows (I hope :diablo:) ?

the consequences of it throwing a rod at one of the rear facing cylinders are dire 😮

Pretty good going when you think about it, especially when you consider what BL was churning out back then.
It seems that space exploration is suffering a tad due to budget choppage, where are all the space stations & moon bases that Arthur promised us by 2001.
I blame it on the Berlin Wall coming down (as I do most things
)

yes provided it has only been soft deleted 🙂
^^^Probably close to the mark SH^^^
Looking forward to the prestigious amount of threads on the subject if it ever does reach fruition
I think much of the requirement for “historical accuracy” is a deliberate attempt to say rude words and get away with it in a “looking up rude words in the dictionary” fashion.
No, not my style at all, so once again we must agree to disagree.
Anyway, the matter has been sorted – we’ll have to wait on the film coming out so we can have multiple threads about the Lancasters having too many rivets or the knurled flange-bracket being the wrong colour.
Like it Pewtey, like it 😀
No, as I said, the name of the dog is irrelevant.
Well, Arthur, we’ll have to agree to disagree on that one, it is important on the grounds of historical accuracy.
I wonder what the 53 aircrew that failed to return would think if all we can discuss about a film of their exploits was the name of their CO’s dog.
They would undoubtedly be utterly bemused that after all they went through, you weren’t permitted to utter the name of their CO’s dog on a film!
The days of gollywogs and the black and white minstrels have been consigned to history and so should the term “nigger”.
So, by being consigned to history, naming the dog correctly in a film based on historical fact would seem even more relevant.
