Keep one MR4 at least. If they’re intent on scrapping them, save one so its not just outrageously expensive scrap metal and we have something to show for £X Billion spent.
Good post & point!
What ever the rights & wrongs of this debacle, it would be sort of nice to keep one as a reminder not to raid the second hand parts bin the next time we want a replacement aircraft.
One complaint….
Not enough, we need more! 😀
All of these shots are gold QuePee 😎
A remarkable piece of engineering Cees. 😎

I wondered if your old man had spent time on ‘707;)
A sad ending for it.
Yup Pagey, a few trips listed in XF707, just about every scaley brat on the patch had a Frog Shack, every single one XF707, in fact thinking on it, I don’t think I every saw one finished in SAAF markings back then 😀

Beat me to it Pagey, XF707 one of fathers old Shacks & of course basis of the Frog example (F172)
Outstandingly interesting pics as ever ![]()

A 1970 Plymouth Superbird with a 426 Hemi would make a fine daily runner, not only stylish, but as you point out, tax free! I can see no potential draw backs, other than the fuel consumption & initial purchase price. 😀
