Guess with Duxford out of commission until at least Tuesday updates will be few and far between unless volunteers and staff are allowed on site ! Seems Duxford is having a troublesome start to 2014 bring on the summer i say !
Hi Adrian thanks for that the coloured photo is him and has an inscription to his wife date wedding anniversary 1944 I know by this time he was serving in Whitehall alongside Churchill something to do with reconnaissance photography He has an Oak leaf on one medal ribbon all i can say is that dads sister knew he was mentioned in dispatches There is ingraving around the medals once i have written it down i can post some more they could possibly be his parents ??
Okay Brian i look forward to your visits and post you always find something to photograph and talk about :eagerness:, although Wednesday & Friday don’t look that promising weather wise :rolleyes:. After a very serious accident i have only been once since end of July when my intended help me struggle around back end of last year just before Sally B came in from the cold, the only thing we watched land was a helicopter missed both main and Autumn shows so this was a must fix all through that hot summer we had that i spent indoors and in plaster so please keep up the fantastic work you and DCW post.
seems in the depth of winter there is not much happening at Duxford ….. long posts gaps between the resident papperatsie DCW and Pen Pusher i do miss there informative information no matter how small !!!! but on the positive have managed to agree with the intended to wed outside airshow season. This year Legends will be her first ever airshow ! :applause:
fantastic news Blue 2 now we can get back to regular update form the resident mafia !! about the comings and goings. Planning on going at some point in April with the new Mrs and Legends will be her first ever airshow on Sunday which is panning out expensively like this Dx Friday, Hampton Court Saturday, Legends Sunday with an engagement party on 26th wonder if i could get something to fly over !!!!
Strong Caffeine beverages all around this is my Legends plan Duxford Friday arrive as the gates open leave when we are thrown out, Saturday Hampton Court garden show, Sunday arrive Duxford 0730 leave 1900this will be the future wife’s first ever air show he pre conceived idea is watch a plane take off, fly up and down then land ……….. think its going to be a big surprise specially when i say lets go airside !
