    The old saying…

If it,s 90% finished, then there is 90% more work to do.Rather a finished safe plane then one that is half done in a rush and could fall apart from under you.Patience young Padawan, patience…

    Programs..

Also you could try a Airfoil design program like this one to help get a wing together.

    🙂
Not sure how they go with the Spits Plan view though.Thats our stumbling block at the moment…

    Looking forward to it…

With the CGI all I could say was the speed of the planes involved was too high.A bit too agile….Think they have been watching too many flight sims myself. Will have the audience on the edge of their seats though with the action shots.Wonder how close they are to the real history of the man though.

    Bwaaahhhhaahhaaaahahahaaaa!!

I think you will find who really killed JFK will be easier to figure out than the spitfire wing.Believe me we tried (on hold for the moment actually)…………:diablo:
NACA numbers are 2209.4 at the wing tip (either at the tip itself or at rib 19,haven,t found a solid answer) and the root is 2213 at Number1 rib..we think.Washout I think you are close in the figures..
Scaling down full sized wings doesn,t mean scaling down the flight characteristics IIRC.Have heard RC Spits are vicious if you build the wing exactly to the real one.
Being an irregular elliptical wing makes finding the chord a pain as the highest point of each rib section changes throughout the wing length. Mr Mitchell was a genius when he designed it..In that respects I have no hope…:o Aircraft design isn,t really my strong point.Give me a hammer and some ally and I,m Ok though..

    Thanks JDK…

Didn,t know about the interchangeability between the two types. Is it a case of structural modernisation and upgrading like the new 262,s??
I know the Fw190 tailwhells will fit each other.

    She looks a beaut…

I,m speechless. Finally she flies….Thanks Mk12.And thanks to all involved.Years ago Peter Crosier came up here gathering up Spitfire parts.Don,t know if many reached it to the airframe but gives a small satisfaction seeing the Spit fly.Now to await all the stunning air to air pics amongst the NZ landscape..:D
Did they get a handle on the niggling UC bug?

    The Luftwaffe way during WW2…

An Iron Cross or a wooden one.Any LMF was dealt with swiftly…and savagely.

    Being in love….

To be honest, having a biased approach to the Spit all I can say is that it,s like being in love with a supermodel. You just HAVE to tell everyone about it…

    The problem with Spits…

Is that not a lot of the major sub assemblies are interchangeable.Especially in the fuse frames where each aircraft was virtually hand built.Taking a frame and transferring it to another and expecting holes to line up is a pipe dream.Only way to go is to fully reskin it with new holes or with bare undrilled frames.Tails and wings aren,t an issue as they are readily detached. These days you pretty much have to work with what you have got.
First Flight!!!Made my miserable working week a lot happier..:D Thanks Mk12

Hope a rescue mission from the Tower of London isn,t in order for Tangemere…:dev2:
Hope it all gets sorted soon. It,s too small a hobby..

All it needs is some TLC..

Crash sites are pretty rare here in Auss due to the fact that they were scavanged pretty thouroughy by RAAF teams to keep the airforce flying during WW2.Yes the parts shortage was that bad.Grave markers were usually put up to mark the body,s resting place up to when it was time to be moved. Here a crash either disintergrates or gets lost in the wide blue waters between Darwin and the rest of the islands north of us.It,s a touchy subject and I think maturity and morality come into play with wrecks.
With the Spit nothing is impossible these days..Yes these are drawn full size..:diablo:
