Woohoo,I,ll buy two!!!Yes the thrash Pearl Harbour film has been, err thrashed to death by now.For a jolly good mindless romp around the screen for a few hours watch Pearl. For an entertaining tension building movie watch Tora x3.Almost as good as “Battle of the River Plate”.
I think to maintain originality they would keep it as it was.Dunno really, restored Luftbirds are a rare commodity down here.Keep your eye for pics of restored German warbirds, maybe one will show what the instrument panel in close up..Good hunting..
Always wondered why the uni wing couldn,t have both B and C wing armament.Would have really given the Butcher Birds something to worry about. Was it structural integrity under load for the wing, hassles with gun warming or positioning of ammo.Just curious.Cheers.
Didn,t the Swordfish become a nightfighter in one instance for a short period?Another man passes on to become Legend.Salute..
Welcome mate and hope you enjoy your stay.Someone around here will maybe have a pic of the two French fighters your after. It usually takes a bit of time to scrounge through years of hoarded info to find the plane or planes your after.Anyway, sit back and enjoy the view.Cheers mate.
Sounds British.Check out SpitfireSpares.com in the reference section and also check out the forum there is a thread there about instruments used.Might get you a win.Good hunting mate.
There are a few guys here in Auss that muck around with Merlins.Dunno if you would be lucky enough to find a Merlin that early here though.Maybe Bob Eastgate would have an idea down at Point Cook. They are a bit busy though but a quick enquirey might get you a lead.Good hunting mate.
******!!!
Holey cow.Know a few projects down there that will have a hellova time getting organised in 30 days. But knowing the resourcefullness of my fellow colonials we will get it done.Asbestos is badd stuff.I can always ask Brian up here to push a couple of boring army planes out of the Hangar for some better planes to go in..Good luck guys.Hope it doesn,t have to come to it though.Best of luck from up here in the Bananna Republic. 🙂
Don,t we all Dave!!!Good luck and good hunting mate. Will keep our ears to the ground up here for you.Cheers.
Sweet jesus. Now thats what I call a great find at a garage sale.Cheers mate.
Why don,t the unairworthy ,unused spit parts be sent down to Australia where a nice bunch of blokes can use them for patterns for the one they are building. :p .I can vouch they are really nice bloke..(please they are making me say this and have a gun to my head!!!!)
Didnt some He111,s have a flamethrower in the tail as well?Having heard of the grenade launchers.
Aerotechs on my way to work (only a block away in fact).Lynette Zuccoli has done a great job keeping her late husbands collection going.Been quiet these last few years but I do get to see the odd exotic plane visit every now and then.
This was later in the war from when the Fw190 came out AFAIK.
I have heard a story of a radial engined plane being picked up as a stray from over the coast of France and escorted back by 453 Squadron Spitfires.During the landing run the radial engined plane began firing, shooting down one of the helpless Spits.Have heard reports it was either a P47,Brewster Buffalo or a Curtis.Does someone have any info on was it a friendly fire accident or an enemy intrusion.
