    RIP Terry.

He also had a cracking 80% Focke Wulf 190, and a V8-powered Spitfire replica.

Also a restored Grant tank,Centurian,Matilda and a couple of Bren Gun carriers.

I have two areo valves, sold as Merlin (arn’t they all?) But I don’t think they are as they are bigger than the valve I have I know is from a Hurricane. So any ideas as to what they are from? I’m not fishing for an i.d for ebay! These are not for sale just wondered if they can be correctly atributed.

They both measure approx 51mms across the face (sorry not to be more accurate but I do not have calipers)

the one with the bronze sleeve is approx 120mm long, the other is 130mm loong but there is an area of rust at the end so might have been longer.

    thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi Ross,

Will dig out some pics of the light bracket for you when I am home ok mate, ref the framework as it is attached to the curve of the top fuselage plating so maybe a combination of radius on top of the frame work and the angle of the slot cut outs on the top of the frames.

Cheers this is what I have already..

    Hi Mackeral and Ross,

I do not know of anybody in Worcestershire with a brake press and wished I did.
Ross, ref curves..there are no curves in the sections at all..it maybe the way I took the photographs of the sections, all are straight, still waiting for that info on the wooden armour plate spacers mate
    Jay

Ooops b()gger..Will get on it straight away.
Think what Steve is refering too is a full length section being curved,The short sections look like only for F10 to F12 🙂
A guy told me many years ago to just pull them curved onto each frame but think that would distort the frames.

    channels

The photo in question shows the side channel of frame 9 where it joins the lower fwd longerons, the channel being constructed of 2 zed members & a closing plate with machined fittings at base where it joins longeron.

    Steve

Have seen that on a few Spits but on F8.MkV Spit BL628 that Avspecs restored was a “hooked” spitfire and had some different bits and pieces added..Look at the lower firewall side gussets as well.
