Go for it..A lot has been done with less.Just tackle each part one at a time…There is heaps of knowledge on the forum with scratchbuilding bits and pieces..Reference,planning and research is your number one step..
Good hunting
Once metal has stretched, that’s it.
Nope if your careful you can heat shrink it..
Here is a pic of our rollers..Same principle..
I,m thinking a drawing error on the plans..
We have a lot of Spitfire part drawings if anyone needs anything..Tony can you Pm me a quote for a set of replica instruments for a MkV pleeeeeeeeaaase;)
Big Spring?
I posted my message on the 17th and Qldspitty posted the drawing on the 18th , and as my crystal ball is currrently on loan to G4S I was not aware until then that they knew each other or that Gary was involved in the project.
He was for a while as parts chaser until he got ill with a back injury. He is now in the USA .

The windscreen casting is the hardest part. The rest is straight forward sheetmetal, except for the cheekplates..White mans magic 🙂
Tony hope your mum gets better soon.Prayers mate..
Tube
Hi guys, here is the old unedited drawing for the tube and elevator control tube position.
Cornovii the GA drawing for F20 fwd is part number 30027-1125.It is shown in the GA drawing 30027-22G as the top right hand view..
Naaaaw
I speak on behalf of many who say your all have done a bloody marvelous job so no one is having a go..buts its the beauty of sharing information via the forum..finding out those titbits of info we normally would not have.:D
Yes it is great sharing.Thats one reason why I started was lack of info for us bottom feeders..Just having a cranky pants day.Last 7 years have been well….interesting but know how hard it is to get info needed for that one part to finish off an assembly.Still have a lot of missing parts of the puzzle (my empire for F20 fwd drawing..with measurements 🙂 ) to go.
The critical measurement is the height for the elevator control tube on the column as this needs to line up with the bellcrank behind F11:p
Seeing we have spent the best part of 7 years in our free time,at no cost designing the spit from scratch in 3D some of the info we didn,t have at the time. Will easily correct the length 🙂
Cheers
My word our work gets around 🙂
A simple folder can be made of a couple of G clamps,a block of wood and a table.

With the outside width at 1 inch a piece of wood or bar 20mm thick will do it.
Spitfire ones look similar…
