We have found similar problems with the Spitfire drawings.Numbers not measuring up with whats drawn.Trust the numbers and use CAD to smooth out the shapes.
They were eventually bought by a Sydney scrap dealer who built a smelter on the site
Thought it was an Adelaide company.Will check up on that.

Spits?? you mean you guys have pulled that rebuilt complete and finished one apart? and that all that is left now is a forward cockpit section???
(thats what they did to complete Spitfires at Oakey years ago too, are you recreating local history?)

Here,s the rest…And no even though Bill has helped us out immensely with parts it,s not the same one…We started off with nothing and have most of it left.
Local residents Lester Resinger and Bill Martin have rebuilt a Spitfire using parts found around the airfield. The finished aircraft is displayed in the Oakey Aviation Museum
Never let the facts get in the way of a good story..
Probably the film crew will plant one just to get a happy ending to their story

Here in Auss we are in shock with todays events.Prayers go to all over there..Going to be tough for them to recover from today.

You can use old car leave springs cut and polished too for slappers.Different shapes are used for different curves in the sheetmetal.There are also different stakes etc for the “other” side.Have seen carved out stumps used as well.Hardest thing is figuring out the best way to create the shape needed.
