Not too bad mate. Will look good on a replica spit.
452 and 457 Squadrons used to carry the good ale in the ammo bins of the spits up at the top end defending Darwin, not while in combat of course.
Hello,anyone??
Not sure if it will help but another way to put sharp curves in ally angle is to use a bit of 2×3 about 6 inches long, radius one end and then put a saw cut in the middle of it the depth of the flange parallel to the curve.Insert it into the angle and have under it another block of wood with a slight curve carved into it.Then hammer the b@stard till you get the required curve. It,s how I did the tight bits on the F5 cowling coaming for the Spit.Looks amazing Cees you should feel proud of what you have achieved.Us Spitaphiles bow to your work. 😀
Depends on the orders of the day I think of which flares are used.Same for the ID lamp on the fuselage, different coloured lenses.
Merlin or Griffon.Try some of the Military 3D forums, they might have something. If not one of us here will have to do it the hard way,i.e. tape measure and pen and paper.
Ooooeeerrrr!!!
cheers old chap! Once these are fitted the only large scale rivetting left will be the canopy rails!!!
Now that sound exciting mate, looking forward to piccies.:D
Haven,t found any top engine mounts yet here.:(
On F11 the vertical measurements from the datum down are 142.67mm,288.8,435 and 694.These are to the hole centres on the intecostal brackets out to the frame heel.On cockpit photos it looks like between F10 and F9 a hatsection stiffener runs central as well.Be careful up around the F7 to F5 as there is a few hatches, cutouts for access to the bottom fuel tank, line fittings out to the wings and hydraulic rams for the UC.Hope it helps mate.
Cheers Ross
Hi Tony will have a look for you today on the drawings.I know we have worked them out for F11 and aft to the tail. Some of them are to hold the fasteners for the wing root fairings IIRC.
Cheers Ross
Umm how about just soap and water and a good scrub with a brush.
Top one is a mod plate for a Spitfire, used when a subassembly was modified from standard.300 is MkI lineage,64 is equipment.
How about wings? Are you going to do it in house or are they to be built elsewhere?
Bear Mccreary anyone??

One of todays greats and the younger generation have made him a house hold name with his work on the Battlestar Galactica series.
Am moving at the moment so all my drawings are on the Pc and boxed away but I think the resident spitstorians won,t be far away..
