At the end of the day, we should be pleased that there are guys out there who are willing to finance such project, otherwise we would have very little to watch when we attend air shows.
Plus knowing the new owner as I do, I know he is keen to show off his new aircraft to the public, but its just a matter if the air show organisers want to book the aircraft now.

Congratulations Mark on being the new owner of this fine aircraft. 🙂

With regard to XL603. The latest news I have on this jet is that there’s no paper work for it, so the likelihood of seeing her fly again are slim.
There are two due to be returned to airworthy condition.
WV322 a T-8B and XL602 the unique T-8M. :dev2:
This is what I’ve found out about your jet.
Its first flight took place on 27/05/58 and David Lockspeiser was the pilot.
The aircraft went on to serve with 229 OCU at RAF Chivenor from 15/07/58and took up the code ES89 with 234 (R )Squadron. It then joined 1st TWU in November 76 before going to St Athan but no date.
If you’re thinking of repainting this jet, then 234 (R) Squadron markings are very good. If you look in the book Hawker Hunter fifty golden years, and go to page 28 you’ll see a photo of Hunter F-6A XF516 then you will get a better idea of what 234 Squadron markings look like.
Hope this helps?

The answer to your question is yes. The Air Atlantque DC-3 was G-AMRA and the ETPS have recently been using HHAs Hunter T-8B XF995.

I had a very good response to my request and the booklet was packed with “amusing” stories from guys who had flown or worked on 573.

The last pilot to fly XX467 was Brian Grant, when he flew the jet from Yeovilton to Perth, for Airwork.
