Flying it?

Although it is nice to read these legends en urban myths but
I am more interested if someone would actually start looking
if these are in fact true. I have seen some footage of these
catapultings, didn’t they use Fireflies as well? Has there been
any investigations in the past to find any of these?

Nice pic.

I would better not apply for the job then,
My first task would be to have W1048 fully rebuilt
:eek::rolleyes::cool::p;):D:diablo:

Thanks Bruce Bruce,:D
So much for neutrality then.
But then again it’s nice to have so many spare parts. The
Sandys Corp Fw190D reproduction seems to have one too.
Which is why I asked (and they are based in Austria, hence
I assumed the lake was also there).

Great progress there, those fuel controls are very rare I believe
and difficult to source even in Canada.

It’s about time that “book” is published. A week after publishing it will be out of date anyway, so better publish it now.

Hi Martin,
Not from a Halifax. The radio operators seat is tubular
with leather upholstry, a pic of one was posted a few days ago on this
forum.

no i understand completely, i guess i just dont like being told what cant be done :diablo:
Here’s what im working on at the moment 🙂 ive not cut any wood yet, as most of the design is still in the prelim stages, and of course before i do cut any wood im going to join the LMA and do it properly. the thing is for me, once said model is finished and ready to fly, the interest for me ends lol, ill just want to build another!
It’ll be 1/10th scale and im going to build it as the prototype Victor 🙂 in the proper scheme too 🙂
Excellent choice!

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the pics, they are very helpful and also show the large
electrical junction box on the starboard side, something I need to
make some drawings for. PN323 doesn’t have it fitted IIRC.

Hi Cees – I’ll try and go this weekend for you. Can you let me know very carefully what you need so I don’t dissapoint? Cheers
Hi Elliott,
Just got back from Dublin, sorry couldn’t reply sooner. You never dissapoint so don’t worry.:D
I am after the structural details in the starboard side of the pilot’s compartment such as frame/stringer joints, brackets, fittings (if still attached) etc. I appreciate your help als always.
Happy 2010 to all forumites!!
Cheers

WOT!!!, No nose?
Pics shamefully pinched from the Nanton Museum site.

Hi Mike,
The ones that are already on this forum or do you have more? I am looking for pics of the interior construction of the pilot’s compartment
on the starboard side. I do have drawings but photographs show mostly a clearer picture between structures. ANY pics of the pilot’s compartment is useful.
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Update as of today, the control column is now fitted and the
frames are growing together (must get that camera soon).
Anyone in the vicintiy of IWM Lambeth soon?
Cees
Hi chaps,
Plenty of progress but no working camera yet. I am working on that (too).
Does anyone of you on this forum have plans in the near future to visit the IWM Lambeth by any chance? I am in need of some close up pics of the cockpit structure in the pilot’s compartment of PN323. Anyone? (Elliott, you live round the corner, do you go there sometimes during lunchbreaks?)
Cheers
