Who has succeeded him?
Indeed they have.
I was lucky to meet Birger Larsen some years ago. When I asked him where he got the spares for the Ju88’s he told me they knew over 60 high ground wrecks. When I asked him if he knew a further Halifax he got a very strange look:D

And with another one to follow, a Mk I, at the moment still hanging on the wall of the Bigging Hill hangar?
Fantastic that this is possible outside the UK or USA.

I’m all for it, just being realistic.
Funding could perhaps be better spent on the Halifax reconstruction already advanced by Karl Kjarsgaard and friends.
Really? I saw it in 2009 when it was still being worked on. After the museum had to close nothing has been done to it. If it is a problem to continue a static restoration I cannot see (but hope to be proven wrong) an airworthy restoration taking place. The Lanc isn’t a rare beast in Canada.
Funding comes to mind.

Well there’s enough to chose from, five days is too short:D
Thanks again.

Was thinking about that one when on holiday in the area a few weeks ago. FlyPast something 1984 had a nice article about it.

Thanks chaps,
Very useful. Planned length of the trip is 5 days. Will do some research.

The most difficult aircraft to identify. Process of elimination would be the best thing to do. What type engines, props, tailwheelfork, guns etc.
But very interesting nonetheless.

I’m in favour of shipping the Halifax 1048 to Canada for restoration, better than leaving it in the present condition. When I visited Hendon on april 1st (by coincidence) it left me depressed instead of impressed as I had always been before.
Cees
So definitely not going to RAF Hendon then, what caused that deal to fall through?
Cees
Not likely:D

When we where there the previous Monday the castle was closed unfortunately.

Thanks Steve,
Indeed the last text is what I read.
Googleing is less fun than posting on this forum don’t you think?:eagerness:

When visiting Solent Sky last wednesday I was amazed to see a Sabre on display.
