Thanks Steve for that nice photograph.
IIRC RR232 was one of the first which was completely reskinned, not the fashion yet in those days.
Did it ever had cowlings before it was exported?

Indeed, well done, so many still remain to be given the proper burial they deserve.

And he is also involved in researching Neville Duke’s Mk IX livery for a restoration. Pity we all miss the fun here.
Cees
Yeah who is CeBro?
You rang ‘M’lord, I think your emoticon has stuck a bit (in the pm too), better remove it, people might be offended.
That is a Halifax partnumber and as Rich said from the fuselage. Not all partnumbers are that long. I sold off my
partnumber index a few years ago to Canada so cannot check anymore unfortunately.

Incomplete cupola, but nice to play with. There is also a BP type C turret in miniature that looks fantastic.
Cees
Classics!
Although I would wish that those tight loops between the P-47 and P-51 were discontinued.
The photo of Princess Elisabeth parked is fantastic.
Cees
Apart from the Hurricane he has now three Spits doesn’t he?
Cees
Not to mention the other Spits.

IIRC there was an article in Aeroplane many years ago about the restoration of this aircraft and that the wrecks of two were found at a farm?
Finland is not a densly populated country, he who seeks shall find.

Midland Air Museum at Coverntry has half an upper wing on loan from the RAFM.
Cees
John,
You could always ask the RAF Museum if you could “borrow” their substantial Siskin wingsections. I believe an almost complete top wing.
Cees
Manchester
i saw a complete reproduction stick top set on ebay recently. Must be a supply and demand thing.
Cees
I fully agree Elliott,
Even if there are still only bits of wing left that would help the Typhoon project immensly for patterns.
If you don’t look, then nothing will be found etc. etc.
Cees
Ok back on topic, was the whole airframe there initially?
