Hi Toine,
Good to see you here. Is Jos still working on the Lanc then?
Cees
Of course we are interested.
You can post it here, that’s what the forum is for.
Do you have any information about that Polish Junkers 188 that was recovered in the
sixties and scrapped?
Cheers
Cees
I don’t think the Canadians will give the Typhoon back. Or they will keep the Sabre.
Now they can take revenge the receipt of the Beaufighter without anything forward of the
firewalls.
Wouhaha
Cees
That Spitfire fuselage was a one off transport by Halifax, only some crude protection against the airflow.
Also cars were carried that way (and jeeps with fieldartillery).
Versatile she was, pity they cut up the last complete Halifax in 1973 in Argentina.
Cees
Has any work been done on the Lanc cockpit? And Halifax cockpt PN323? When I looked under it
The bombbay structure was heavily corroded.
Cees
According to the Freeman Field Recovery Team they have also found Typhoon
cowling section remains. Guess from which one….
Cees
Thread creep,
This is intended for the Typhoon discussion. Post a new thread about the Battle
Incidentally, when visiting Hendon two weeks ago, I noticed she looked rather “tired”
with paintdamage, or ill fitting leading edge skinning.
Oops, back on topic
Good to see that MN235 will get her radiator back.
Well done to all.
Cees
Has anyone mentioned the complete Hampden nose section that went to Canada and is now on the partial replica?
I am sure at the MBCC they would really love to have it. I don’t mind the Typhoon going to Canada. As long as
it get back and will be restored to correct the mock up parts done earlier. Which was the best thing they could do
at the time.
Cees
IIRC the entry door is on the right on the Li-2, the DC3 has the door on the left (or port side)
Cees
Thanks Mike,
Will keep that in mind, any idea where to find photocopies of these turret AP’s?
Cees
Ahh so there it is. I visited Hendon yesterday and thought something was missing.
Cees
Hi John,
I think this is a prime example of international cooperation. Pity I was not able to meet you and Pino.
Next time. Hope the parts will be useful to the project.
Cees
Hi Alex,
Great to read you are doing you rmagic on the Hampden. Are you combining the Sanger and Fonderie Miniatures kits? You do know how to
accept a challenge.
You probably know this site:
http://silksheenphotography.co.uk/resident-aircraft/hampden-ae436-gallery-history/
If all goes well I will be visiting the restoration centre Stafford soon. They have a Hampden
on rebuild, but the bits you need info on are missing on that project. You can try to contact
the Hampden project at East Kirkby as they are rebuilding the aircraft in the link above.
Good luck en show us as many pics on the progress as you can.
Cheers

PK518 en PK519? Mark12 has the story
Cees
Hmm drawing beginning with 57 is Halifax.
Is it a big box with 2 x 4 large levers sticking out
And a row of 3 x levers lower down?
Pics could help.
