    :D:D:D

    Thank goodness no,

I already have one. I wonder what the winner is going to do with it.
Start a Halifax cockpit? Anyone know who he is?
37 bidders, it looks like the Halifax is no longer mr underrated.
    What’s next, another throttlebox?
These things still turn up, so anyone have an Hampden bits?

    I can always ask.:dev2:

While I am waiting for the Hampden drawings, work on the Halifax continues with the details, which by the way take a lot of time. This morning we spent hours fitting the labels on the sloping panel. The result is very rewarding though.

The extinguisher switch box had the large label label fitted, and next are the small labels on top of the lids. Fitting the many labels will take some more hours but will make a real difference.

The starter buttons will also have labels fitted. AFAIK no other Halifax extant has them fitted, or have they?

Apart from that the cockpit will be extended two feet.:o

    Thanks Elliott,

I’m not in a hurry. in the meantime here’s a pic taken today in the
workshop. The basis instrument panel is finished including the
step in the middle to accomodate the blind flying panel.

Yep, looks like the real deal.

Halifax pilot’s controlwheel and column, you can see the connection at the base where the second pilot’s column would fit as well as the long shaft the cog wheel is fitted on at the bottom.

The handwheel is upside down, a common mistake with these things. The one in PN323 always was upside down. I once put it the right way up, the next visit it was upside down again:D

Nice item, I always thought these things were absolutely rare but have seen several in recent years. Anyone have a spare Hampden controlwheel and column????;)

    Good luck to the bidder.

They were saved in the nick of time and are now in the care of the Imperial War Museum.

Well done John and team. Make this a year of great progress for the project. Without a doubt more clues will appear from a certain watery area.

    Keep it up

    Hi all,

Now that Christmas and the new year festivities are behind us (not to mention the many new year parties), things have returned to normal. At least for me:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Time to pick up investigations where we left them last year. This year would see more effort into the unknown Halifax II in the IJsselmeer.

If anyone is planning to visit the National Archives and is willing to find some information for us, please let me know.

I have info on four possible candidates available. Any costs would be reimbursed of course.

Let’s see if we can have this one identified before the year is out.

    Cheers

Hello CeBro, you say you have a video about the halifax rebuild, is this something that is available to buy?

    Hi Jester,

I got it when I visited YAM for the first time in 1997, the video
could be bought from their shop at the time, don’t know if they
    still do

You can always make some enquiries

It still amazes me to see the power of the forum in helping
each others project, and we all benefit.

IIRC it was in FlyPast and the Typhoon radiator was shown in one of the pics.
