Dude, hate to break it to ya…the Queen was there three years ago when I went to see her….and here’s a hint…with all the breakwater rocks around her, I don’t think she’s going NOWHERE…

Just read this too and was gonna dig up the other thread on the America sinking, but this is easier…no photos released as yet, but she was sunk May 14th off the North Carolina coast (same place they sank my Coast Guard Cutter) in about a mile of water…it’s over on Yahoo if you want to check it out. Apparently she lasted 25 days before going under.

Hmmmm…the Corsair one interests me (actuially they All do), but this might be a good one to add to my ‘Corsair Experience’ DVD which I will be ordering soon..

Revell AND Monogram (of course they are one now) just don’t make ’em like they used to, too much flash and gaps and badly fitting parts, and they’re getting their butts kicked by the Japs and some British/European kits….they need to re-do some of their molds and get things to fit better….only kit I found to be decent recently was the 1/48 scale Mustang painted up as either ‘Big Beautiful Doll’ or ‘Miss Marilyn’, the fit on that kit was pretty good…for only $8!

Hartmann, no contest….352 kills if I recall correctly…

I heard from a B-17 guy out our way when visiting the B-17 ‘Sentimental Journey’ one evening that he saw a B-17 looped twice…before the wings came off…he said that’s how he knew (as did the rest of his crew) how many times a B-17 could be looped…

The Piano man is obviously Elton John’s estranged son, so distraught over dear old Dad marrying another man that he tried to drown himself but obviously had second thoughts and has now decided not to talk to anyone….
makes sense, does’nt it? 🙂

I might give the Beaufighter in 1/48 scale a go here some day…but unfortunately my modelling is at a temporary end due to an unfortunate accident the other night…I was driving home with the air tank that I use to power my airbrush and took a corner too fast (no top on the Jeep in summer, no doors either) and the tank launched itself out the side of the Jeep, and of course busted off the nozzle that the airbrush line screws into…so until I fix that or get a proper compressor or whatever, no more models for me…besides, gotta save my money for my upcoming Corsair Gathering trip, and have you looked at the price of 1/48 scale high quality (Tamiya/Hasegawa) models lately? You’re LUCKY if you can find one for around $25, more often they get up near $40…but when I continue, a Focke Wulf 190, a Zero and a Macchi 202/205 are in the wings along with that Beaufighter…

Great shots ALL of them, the Cub is insane….take it the P-36/Hawk did’nt make it over?

Yep….looking forward to seeing Gordon’s new place later this summer…

Not Affleck…he has no regard for WWII planes…heard him bitching that the WWII plane owners on ‘Pearl Harbor’ were too possessive and protective of their mounts for his liking…apparently ol’ Ben does’nt seem to know that THEY DON’T MAKE THESE BIRDS ANYMORE….well, most of ’em anyway…
