Now THAT’S the kinda models I don’t mind taking my time to look at…or closely inspect for defects, either!!

Just a shot here, but what about a large deep sea squid? Perfectly capable of coming up from the deep (remember stories by old mariners of the old Krakens?) and causing chaos if not too far from the sea…my 2 cents…

I still like the FAA colors on the Wildcat at DX better….but I agree, it is something…um…DIFFERENT….

Careful, kids…or somehow it might be programmed in F-16 targeting computers to take a bead on YOUR house….
The USAAF no longer exists….and don’t **** off their modern day counterparts…the USAF….OR the Navy….

Got some pics in some of my books where the dark blue LOOKS black, even in color, and then there’s the flat back panel on the top of the engine compartment (anti glare) so maybe that explains it…don’t like the look of the canopy in the pic above, not very well done, is it?

Seems that an A-10 up in Pennsylvania yesterday dropped a practice bomb on a hiking trail also…no one hurt, trail still intact…

Jeeps and warbirds…two of my FAVORITE things in life…I have a red Jeep Wrangler. So you met Tom Gregory and general Reg Urschler, huh? Great folks, the General has a continual running battle with the SoCal wing of the CAF and particularly their Bearcat (which has smoked him in combat many times)…used to get the SoCal newsletter and it was fun to read the war of words between Gen. Reg and the California gang…great folks all around…

What about the former Provost XW330…anyone know where that ended up? I think it’s here in CO but not sure…anyone?
Cool…thanks much…that Staggerwing used to fly in England in blue and yellow Embassy colors and is believed to have carried Eisenhower many times….unfortunately Jacobsen stood it up on it’s nose the other day, I hear…

Mk12…if you say so…supposedly it belonged to a doctor in Massachusetts or somewhere…not sure it’s not up for sale now.

No, the Spitfire is another ‘classified’ project that I am AMAZED to see in the photo behind Ray’s head, he was always very hush hush about that (it is a Mk. 9, if I recall) and it’s been there for years, hanging from that ceiling…
As for getting invited back to Ray’s hangar, it’s gonna take a freaking SUMMIT between me and Ray to get back in there…more’s the pity…just three doors down from Ray’s shop is Darrell Skurich’s place, where I’m welcomed with open arms because I wrote a piece about their Zero they are restoring and it actually HELPED in the restoration when folks came forth and volunteered parts! Go figure…

VERY interesting stuff! I used to work on a fishing boat off the coast near Vandenburg and Point Mugu, always saw interesting stuff around there and heard lots of jet noise…never got to an airshow there…

What a beautiful little bird…always liked the look of the -75/P-36 series….GREAT to see one up and going again….long may she fly!

Fantastic to see….we’re headed in a new direction with warbirds these days, what with the Oscars about ready to fly, a new Messerschmitt up and about, the 262’s being tested and these FW’s about to go to their homes…exciting stuff, eh wot?
