The damage is probably not as bad as it looks. I’m sure the pilots felt that a safe landing could be achieved, or they wouldn’t have attempted it.

Surely the Merlin, powering the spitfire, the mustang, mossie and the lanc must be right up there? Are there any other aircraft that used merlins?

I agree that it is a person’s right to choose whether they smoke or not, and it is my right to find public areas smoke free.

But what I do not like is the fact that my taxes will have to pay for the medical treatment of smokers who are intentionally damaging their bodies.

And supposing the govt. did ban smoking, a vast black market would arise overnight, just like prohibition in the USA in the 1920s.

A moonbase would be really handy as a stopoff for a manned mission to mars, but what else would it achieve?

Another problem is that if you increase the ammount of armed officers, you increase the ammount of firearms accidents.

I know for a fact that Sweden did this regularly with their Viggens, as a central part of their air defence strategy. A very good idea if you ask me.

The probelm is that if you are making a historical film, most people will take it as being fact, as most people will not realise the truth for themselves. For example:

    Pearl Harbour
    U571
    Green Berets

All bad films, imho. THe first two make it look like the USA won WW2 on its own, the last is pure propaganda rubbish.

One of the questions is flawed. You CAN overtake the last person in a race, by lapping them. It happens regularly in F1 racing.

    Good Fun though!!!!

The way i see it, the right to free speech entitles everyone to say whatever they wish. However, i also believe that we also all bear a responsibility to treat everyone else with a little respect and courtesy. So in this case, why didn’t the Danes just say, “Fair enough, point made, were sorry we made everyone so angry”.

If they had done this, it may have triggered more discussion among muslims to let them come to a concensus on their views of the matter, instead of making them feel insulted enough to riot as more and more european papers published the cartoons for the sake of it.
