If Iran was stupid enough to attack Iraq, it would destroy any international support they enjoy at the moment, and would most likely spook the Saudis no end, resutling in a new massive deployment of western forces in the country.
Also, with the US troops in Iraq, Iran would be virtually declaring war on the US, the UK and the other coalition members.
I don’t believe Iran wants this, as the US would certainly get rough with Tehran. (think bombing raid from Carriers, Iraqi bases or Isreali bases).
This is war posturing, but i imagine it is only designed to keep the US on their toes and show that the Iranians are willing to fight if need be.
Biggles!! Or does that break the rule?

Have any difficulties arose from Merlins entering service? As far as i know they were fine with the RAF, but some of you seem less than pleased?
Wow. I am amazed the aircraft is still in a single piece after that! I bet the flight suits needed a cleaning after this landing!!! 😀 😀 😀
Darn, she looks like a wonderful hybrid.
Not sure, DazDaMan
It probably can, but not as a matter of routine anyway. The phone and SIM card have since been cancelled anyway.

Yes, but if the F-15s can be detected, air defences can be targeted on the location. FLAK, SAMs and aircraft, making the bomber much more vulnerable.
Hi all.
Some developments. It turns out my friend’s sister phoned him on the mobile to see how he was, unaware that the phone had been taken. She actually had a conversation with the B@$tards, and asked why they had done it. Any guesses why?…
“for a laugh”.
Suffice to say, if we ever find out who they were, i would be very happy for me and the lads to pay them a visit with some cricket bats. Just for a laugh you understand :dev2: :diablo:

surely the two F15s would be seen by radar, thus making them reveal the position of the bomber?
I have a book at home that shows an RAF FW190, from a captured unit.
I have also heard that the Nazis captured an RAF Westland Lysander, and had it in Berlin at the last days of the war, apparently as a last escape plane for Hitler to pass over allied lines safely. Anyone heard of this or seen any pics?
True. Everything man made can be detected, period. And it is always worth remembering that no matter how ‘stealthy’ you make an aircraft, the Mark I eyeball can always pick it up… 😎
The US has let out licence production of equipment in the past, why not now? The UK is its closest ally and I doubt that the UK would travel the globe selling its own F-35s to all takers.
I don’t see what the UK wants to achieve as being unreasonable, what is wrong with maintaining sovereignty over military hardware paid for by our taxpayers?
