I did think it would make me look like a grouch ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I mean, I stay away from threads I’m not interested in, but it seems I can hardly move in GD without tripping over memorial threads! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I stand corrected. Can anyone explain why an LHA does not have a ski jump like the RN CVS class have/had? I would have thought that with the weight problems of the F35B and help to get ordinance into the air would be welcome… Or would a ski jump take up too much space and hence degrade the performance of the LHA system?

I think that the amount of deckspace it would take up was one of the main reasons, but you are correct, it would be hugely beneficial to F-35B operations.

Sorry if I sounded a bit sharp btw ๐Ÿ˜‰

it has not however managed many vertical landings or take offs, which are meant to be its unique capabilities

No, vertical take-offs are not part of the F-35Bs remit.

It is a Short Take Off Vertical Landing aircraft.

According to the BBC, large Pentagon budget cuts are going to effect the number of F-35 on order

I don’t think they are going to cancel the B version, but it, alongside all other variants, looks like it is just going to get more and more expensive

Thanks to Logan and Badger, I was clearly getting the two programs confused! ๐Ÿ˜‰

What with all the USAF programs and protests I lose track sometimes! ๐Ÿ˜€

IIRC, didn’t the EH101 win out first time around?

Anyone got any links to the history of the CSAR-X program?

That said, if the USAF wants something bigger, the HH-71 or an S-92 variant looks like the right size, and the winner of these two would be a sure winner of the VXX competition.

I am getting malware warnings, but only for page 2 on the “Chinese J-XX/14/20 p.2” thread.

    The warning message reads:
“The website at forum.keypublishing.co.uk contains elements from the site http://www.fyjs.cn, which appears to host malware โ€“ software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer.”

I’m getting this using Chrome on Win XP

I’ve read they have a couple squadrons of J10, in which case these would be pretty much their best defence.

Chinese J10s? Where did you read that, it’s the first I’ve heard of it! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Maybe look at Oregon, NO sales tax! ๐Ÿ˜‰

VAT brings in 14.7% of govt tax revenues, so unfortunately I don’t think we will see the back of it anytime soon.

If they could get the funding for it then it would be fantastic. Just don’t make the RAF pay for it.

It is somewhat strange isnโ€™t it; ยฃ240,000 bail, and for a crime that (even if he is found guilty) would probably not result in imprisonment in Sweden.

According to sources I have heard, if he is convicted then he faces a 5000 Kroner fine, about ยฃ470

Rather heavy handed for such a crime, isn’t it! Almost enough to make one think this is politically motivated!

Maybe because McDD was purchased by Boeing?
