Personally, I do not believe that the EU should lift the embargo, and if the French government sells Rafale to china it would only prove that they care more about business than moral values.
No nation should trade weapons with a country that shoots refugees or commits other henious human rights violations.
Buccaneer flying
I did hear one story about flying the buc, but I am not sure of authenticity.
The story goes that bucs didn’t have a terrain following radar, but they did have a radar that pointed upwards. – solution:
Fly inverted! apparently this was a regular tactic employed at Red Flag and other exercises, but it smells of BS to me 😎
And another thing i hear on the buc is that during UK-USA joint carrier exercises (back when the RN had propper carriers), US interceptors would have real problems intercepting the bucs, and more often that not they got through ‘sinkning’ US supercarriers on more than one occassion, the thread might be here somewhere in the Navy forum.
1136 for me
1136 for me
Hopefully this will be there to fill the gap for nations wanting to replace their A-37s and the like?
No, I haven’t read that book, but it certainly sounds very interesting. I have considered reading mein kampf in order to better undersand the man, but its something i have never gotten around to, has anyone here read it?

The nuclear weapon cannot be un-made, so it is necessary for nations to maintain some nuclear weapons. It is any nations right to have a nuclear program.
However, it is not neccesarily in the best interest of the current nuclear powers to let anyone new into the club, so the behavior that they are displaying is not hypocritical, it is as simple as looking out for number one.
Personally I think that nuclear proliferation can only be a bad thing. The more nuclear weapons are developed my unstable nations, the more likely some crazy dictator will get to use them, or will pass them on to someone who will.
It is my honest opinion that North Korea should be prevented from developing these weapons, even if it means a black op. to destroy their reactors. The North Korean regime is simply too dangerous to the world to let it have its own way.

The Departed:
A little violent for my tastes, but a good film nonetheless, 8/10

I would expect numbers of F4s and F14s still to be flying to be low, as spares from the US are impossbile for the Iranians to get. Ditto for the F-5s and Chinooks.
Whilst I do have an affection for Mil helicopters and have firm confidence in their abilities, an RAF Mil 26 won’t happen.
It would be unacceptable politically and would cause operational problems as its support and maintainence requirements are so different to the other Helos in RAF service.
