G-AKRP
Here it is at Sywell, exactly three years ago today looking in splendid condition. It is so sad G-AKRP has been apparently abandoned at Cranfield, but I’m delighted to hear someone has bought it that will look after her, but of course I wish it would have remained here in UK. Please keep us updated on this.
Ta.
There’s a load of W.W.II a/c in their actual W.W.II paint in museums. The criteria are FLYING warbirds; and I don’t think any fliers are in their original paint (extra points). Good try, nil points.
Kennet’s Jet Provost T.1 G-AOBU was initially flown in its original Hunting-Percival paint, or doesn’t that count?
Dutch Connie doubtful due to an engine problem 🙁
Gannet still at Gander 🙁
Think positive! Three weeks to go yet!! 😎
Its a “Priviledge Airways” aircraft, operating for HOLA airlines
Thanks a lot and am I right in assuming it’s ex-Britannia Airways? Do you know its previous reg?
EAL_KING is an obnoxious arrogant individual who caused many problems both on and off the fora. He sent hateful e-mails and got into messenger conversations where he was abusive, made diatribes full of foul and vile invective and also questioned people’s sexuality and insulted certain members families. He also made numerous threats of physical violence.
Am I sad to see him go? Not at all. He is a perfect example of all that is wrong with society today. This board is pretty much back on form. It does not need people like him.

Here here, he was so arrogant he even bragged about doing this at school when he should have been in lessons…because he said he was bored! If you try to read some of his posts, you will see he should have attended more English lessons! We have a lot more mature and intelligent posters that contribute, so he is no loss.
AAAH! That’s MUCH better!!! Now why couldn’t SAS adopt this scheme??
Great, shame you are coming after the air show season but send me a PM when your plans are finalised. Sounds like visits to Duxford and Hendon are on the cards?
Have just heard that Kissimmee got hit and a T-6 plus some others got destroyed. Hope Tom Reilly’s B-17 is safe!
Love Catalinas. How about starting a Catalina thread to see how many surviving Cat. photos we can post??
Apparently, it’s due for a squadron markings change in 2006. Spoke to the crew this year, but they haven’t decided on which squadron to paint it. I suggest perhaps ‘JO-U’ -“Uncle Joe Again with Stalin nose art of 463 Sqn. RAAF.
What a wonderfully kind gesture! As I am already scheduled to guide you towards cold beer over here(if I can find any!), I would very much like to see your DVDs. What part are you visiting and when are you coming over?
I hate the current SAS livery and this is such a shame that Braathens have got sucked into this. Bring back the cheatline??
Have never flown on Virgin Atlantic, but do they play Madonnas ‘Like a Virgin’? 😉
Has the RAF scrapped some of them, I thought they were exchanged for the newer version and being refurbished by Marshalls at Cambridge.
Not all of the C-130Ks were exchanged for C-130Js.Some of the tankers were scrapped at Cambridge, as they were life-expired or had been over-stressed. It was not worth de-converting them to the transport role and replacing so many parts to extend their lives. Guess they were reduced to spares for the rest of the C-130K fleet.
I suspect the only way a Museum could get one, in the forseeable future, is to buy a basic wreck/carcass and rebuild it over time. The FAAM at Yeovilton once suggested that this method may be the only way that they get a Sea King.
Quite right – even the Sea Harrier in the FAAM is a composite airframe!
