I did a trouser shame:o
LOL!!-and some more LOL!!
Great painting!-It looks like the only thing that’ll put a spanner in the works as regards the first flight will be the weather-100% chance of rain apparently (actually, it’ll be a wrench in America, eh??)
Oh, and a Mitsubishi A5M-preferably at Old Warden!
dH Hornet, Me-163, SR-71, XB-70 and Hawker Fury (biplane)-hurry up, Mr Black!!
IIRC, a couple of P-38’s and 3/4 P-47’s have been recovered and are being worked on, but not sure how many are due to fly
I went up in one years ago from West Malling. It seemed to take most of Kent to get off!-lovely machine, though-and some great photos from NZ on here!
And why did they change the direction of rotation on the Griffon from the Merlin?
Wasn’t the Fw-190 called the ‘Shrike’ or ‘Butcher Bird?’-I know it was called that, but don’t know whether it was a nickname or official
And an awful lot of mis-identification!! How difficult is it to come up with some film of an Il-38??-or to find out that a Tu-16 is NOT a fighter bomber? or that an X-15 is NOT a missile!!
In his autobiography, he says he was allotted Spitfire ‘YT-J’ whilst at 65 squadron and a few pages later mentions shooting down a ‘109. So I am assuming it was that one, but no doubt someone will come along with the definitive facts!
Sorry to disappoint you all, but it was actually the Flug Werke 190 having a high power blast on our tie-down point by the M11 in the dark. Apparently the flames out of the stacks were awesome. Unfortunately some of us were grafting down in the ARC part of T2 and for once couldn’t get any pictures…
I don’t suppose the CAA have changed their minds??!
That Czech marked Mk IX?
It will if they can afford $20,000 an hour!
Did Mr Penrose make a full recovery?-I didn’t realise he was so badly injured
His dad used to fly Hustlers! (sorry, i know that’s irrelevent, just don’t often get chance to mention it!)
