Better a rebuilt one than a battered firewall that does nothing. I can nver get my head round people who have not invested their own money in projects complaining. I heard people moan the FW190A8 wasnt real! I would love to have seen her!

exactly my point…i for one was hoping this “boomer” would return home(yes most of it is based on t6 parts)…but to see her perform infront of a audience that has virtually no idea what a boomerang is is pretty cool in my mind.
i do hope they correct the markings though……..the parts put into her are CA13 so no red spot in the roundels and white tail and leading edges…i wish the new owners all the luck in the world with bringing her to a new audience.

It may be a ‘Boomerang’, but there’s nothing ‘CAC’ about it.

it does have some genuine CAC parts in it…..not alot but some(the firewall and maybe engine mount if i recall)

i would have liked to visit the iwm lambeth when i was over there earlier last year(it’s 2015 in Australia),,my paternal grandfather was a ww1 vetran and i never got to talk to him about what he experienced, the story needs to be told as there are none left to tell us now…and we should never forget the holocaust…we forget we repeat.

this looks a little over kill to me but i do live on the other side of the world…….my wife and i visited the bomber command memorial in londol earlier this year…and i can tell you it was an experience, not much brings emotions to me these days but that did…you should be proud of it,my wife has almost no interest in aviation history(even though her grand father was a mechanic on RAAF spitfires in darwin and PNG)….but she was moved..it’s a great memorial.

If another has to be built it should be near or on a former base….east Kikby seems like the best place to me.

Ive only been twice(legends 2011 and legends this year)we stayed at the holiday inn behind the red lion both times, and to be honest most airshows down here(Australia)could learn a thing or two about how to run and how to get people out of an airshow ….duxford was a dream(yes i walked there and back) but watching the car controllers it looked very easy to get in and out(one Avalon airshow we hadnt got of the field after an hour had passed)…i took my wife this year and even she was impressed by the way it worked!!!!

i’d always heard the peregrine was the fall back if the PV12(merlin) didnt succeed……a late model; kestrel with a merlin styled super charger .
