Apart from the sale of the NZ Hurricane any clue regarding the sale of the exTFC/HFC hurricane?
I seems an odd time to sell with the BofB 70th Anniversary this year and presumably more air show bookings on the cards
I notice Berlin Express has also been withdrawn?âšī¸
Very sad news

Has a F9F Panther ever appeared at a UK airshow?
What a great website, with some superb engine designs
It a while since I have been to Brooklands, but I am sure the centre section of R for Robert was damaged / corroded and replaced with an original section that was being used as a green house and spotted and recognised for what it was by one of the museum staff.
RIP Blue skies. Fascinating life story Tumult in the Sky
A few years ago we had a forum get together at Duxford where Robert Rudhall gave us a very interesting talk on the film and I remember him saying there is approx 20 minutes of aerial shots in the film and approx 50 hours worth in store. There is also film of another squadron which was filmed on the east side of Duxford and was never included in the finished film.
Does anyone know, Is it just a brief stop over at Shoreham or will N167Fs be based there?
Having read some of the gripping and moaning. If I was the organisers at TFC reading this thread I would think “Why bother next year, whats the point we have only got the only flying P38 in europe and the only flying Curtis build Razorback P47 and the public still moan”
When in a few years time we don’t have a Flying Legends we will all be wishing it was back with the (Balbo which is unique) Some of us remember when the highlight of a show was the Harvard display team or a lone spitfire.
Just enjoy it while we have it. And if the line-up doesn’t interest or excite you. Simples! stay at home.
“Nanette” by Edwards Park. P39 pilot with the 41st FS, 35th FG early on in the PTO
“Of War and Weddings” Jerry Yellin. He was a P51 Pilot flying the VLR missions from Iwo Jima.
“New Guinea Skies” Wayne Rothgeb. P38 pilot with the 39th FS, 35th FG PTO
Steve Birdsall’s book “Flying Buccaneers” is a must for anyone interested in the 5th Air Force. It’s a great mix of photos, stories and info on the 5th.
His book “Saga of the Superfortress” is a great on on B29 ops.
Good choices Dan. Particularly like Nanette đ

I dont understand why an obseen amount of money needs to be spent on the egotistical idea of one man in an effort to stamp his mark on the museum, building a monstrosity of a structure which wouldnt look out of place on Canary Wharf but pointless in Hendon, and can someone please explain to me how it maintains the memory of the sacrifice of young men in a war 70 plus years ago. If you could showed it to one of the long departed pilots could they see any tribute of their sacrifice in this glazed architectural folly……………:) rant over
