You mention engine type. The part number list above if I remember rightly doesn’t have p/ns for engines.
RR has a wide range of p/ns with the format like those; two letters followed by a load of digits. These include the likes of BT, GN, HW, KB, PP, RK, SE, XR, etc, followed by 1 to 4 digits. But I don’t know of FT. Maybe someone else?
How big are the parts and what might their purpose be? The large flanged pipes suggest to me ducting attached to a bulkhead. Hot air for deicing or cannon heating?
Bristol Freighter?
Fairey?
I’m not sure if this was the final on this forum for part number information:
https://www.key.aero/forum/historic-aviation/141318-aircraft-part-numbe…
Anyway, I couldn’t find FT.
Questions: Are there any other numbers at all? Although it doesn’t seem likely in this case, castings often include lot numbers as well as part numbers. Also – do you think that this is the ‘final’ part? That there would be any further machining to finish the part. Finished cast parts may have two part numbers – one for the casting, and the other perhaps ink-marked or impressed for the finished part.
Is it aluminium alloy?
And of course Woodford became BAE Systems!
Hi all. I have just let the owner know that the flare chutes assembly is from Shackleton. He was trying to interest local parties in it, but now that he knows what it is from, he has asked me to say it is for sale. Located in Sydney.
Cheers
Thanks Rich. Unique to Shack? Any other types? I will check with the owner if he got it locally here in Australia, but then of course things wander all over the place!
Thanks TonyT. I think I am making a little progress. Hopefully these will get me a little further!
Cheers.
Great. Thanks TonyT.
Have found in the last few days that one hope here in Australia is for now ‘no hope’, but have also found a lead in NZ. Another lead is much appreciated!
Cheers.
Mmmm….. I heard a museum sold the spade grip to the UK… No offence to anyone in England, but I think it should have stayed in Australia.
I’m guessing no one started a 2021 version… it’s so quiet, but probably not much point with so few listings…
Below is a photo showing the status of my DH.108 panels. Since making the centre top panel, I realised from the original photo that the RI compass should actually be mounted on a little bracket that sets it off the panel; that solves a major problem when considering the windscreen structure so I am happy about that.
Anyway, what I need:
UNDERCARRIAGE POSITION INDICATOR 5C/1009 (NOSE GEAR TYPE)
OIL PRESSURE GAUGE 6A/1563
6A/1597 6A/601 Pressure Gauge Mk VIIIG Fuel
RADIO CONTROLLER TYPE 12 10L/XXX (TR-1464, but earlier types as well)
For the RI Compass, I would like one that dates from around 1950; the one I have installed dates from a much later GA type.
I have many items for trade. See this web page: http://vhjet.com/home/help-needed/ and select the TRADE ITEMS link – it is for a pdf.
Cheers!
Nice details. Nicely polished!
Brilliant. Thanks for posting, Wyvernfan.
Thanks Terry. Much appreciated.
I bet there is so much of it that we don’t even know about…
I can’t say there is anything illegal going on here, but I think it is a bit rude!
