About 1946-7 my friend and I scraped together the necessary 10 whole shillings (50p for non believers) for a 20 minute flip in an Auster from Lympne. The pilot showed me how to haul the stick about, he was H Kennard (one of the Few)

It is interesting to note that the B1113 which runs past the cemetery is called Loraine Way

Don’t knock the good old Anson, a very reliable beast that would take you anywhere at a steady 120 knots.
Started my RAF career in them when they almost failed to teach me to be a navigator and finished it helping to lug trainee Air Electronics Orifices about. Most exciting moment came when a lightning strike carried away a trailing aerial and shattered the winch, I thought some silly so and so had fired a shotgun in the aircraft.

In know of a fabric-less Super Cub near Woodbridge.

If it is the one just outside Ipswich, it has been rotting in that hedge since the early sixties, to my certain knowledge.

A very interesting and evocative piece of film.
Note the use of a proper computor, spelt correctly into the bargain.

I wonder if we have any female viewers of this forum ? Perhaps a few have been roped in to view this particular thread.

Whatever, I would be very interested to hear the view from the distaff side 🙂

Speaking personally, I think on several levels that it is a very bad idea. :dev2::dev2: Doubtless I will be covered in ordure for that remark, but I stress that it is my personal opinion.
Intellectually they are doubtless more than equal to the task, BUT.
