You forget to mention how many hours/year these helos fly in Romanian AF. Is no great proof af serviceability if an AF has a helo/fighter for 33 years but it flew 10 hours/year
Once every 1000 flight hours or 7 years the helicopter has to go to major overhaul at the Russian factory.
This 33 year old helicopter flew almost 1000 hours since 2002. We fly our choppers very much. We have 3 helicopters that reached 1000 hours since 2002 and are in Sankt Petersburg now for overhaul, another one has 30 hours left until the big thousand and another two are approaching slowly, but surely the big four digit.
We don`t have hangar queens……except the Eurocraptorers.
