…they are, but some of the single seaters (F.4 nearest) are wearing the late war/immediate post-war roundel type, the nearest T.7 is wearing the later standard post-war roundel

Looks like a B-29 / Washington B.1 in the first shot, I was wondering at first if the pics are of Hemswell? However both Lincolns & Washingtons were based at Waddington.
Ideally a date should give a way an RAF station with that many Lincolns on it.

Thanks DragonRapide, yes I remember the B-29 vid and I think I have seen the B-52 one somewhere, but was thinking that amongst the plethora of spotters, photogs, and Duxfordphiles here that there must be some great shots out there waiting to be aired!

Yep sorry the ‘Super’ bit shouldn’t have been there, also known as the Conroy Skymonster.
So is it really the only surviving Canadair CL-44, does that include Yukons aswel?

The mag probably ran with a spelling mistake, post #25 of this thread shows that FMK Q was always intended, http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=108080

I get what you’re saying about the code presentation, my understanding was that the codes were written as say FMK:)Q on the port side and Q:)FMK on the stb’d as in the pic attached. ie they read correct one way around but not the other, which I understand was to do with tidyness of the letter distribution on each side of the fuselage.

However I don’t want to enter into another paint debate on a fantastic restoration, it could be they have info which I don’t.

Yep fantastic, also amazed at the writing and boards left in the Ops Block, worthy of protection for sure.
Do you have any more pics of the Ops block in general?

I reckon the b&w Banff picture is one of the best of any ‘RAF temporary’ A/Fs anywhere.
Reminds us of what St Eval and even Predannack may have looked in their heydey eh Nick!

Apollo 18 WTF!

Not seen it, and will do my utter best to avoid it, but what the hell is this Apollo 18 film on?!
Can we not just leave history as it is and shoot conspiracy theorists!

Good idea, hate to say it but I probably would be good with that!
I was thinking of picking the Fairey Gannet, air operations with 814 RN Sqn Jan-Sept 1959, but just seems a bit of a dry subject.
