Well if it’s VC-10s you want to watch, bring your biscuits and tea making skills here, you will see them perform in a far sportier fashion than at Brize.
XV101 did a tight turn finals to land in sleet and stopped in 3,500ft with reverse thrust howling, and a few hours later XV102 rotated in 2,400 ft and zoom climbed its way in to the gloom this afternoon, and all this from my heated grandstand view 75ft from the runway:p

I reckon the VC-10 has been the best value aircraft to the RAF in its history, over 45 years of reliable service, never had a serious incident, and flown in most areas, the hours and personnel flown must be tremendous.

Nice collection, be nice to think it all exists still.

I’ve only ever visited Duxford for the excellent museums there, I’ve never been there for air shows, or flying displays, only ever seen flying there once when we were lucky enough to catch the C-54 and Constellation a few years back.

I’m sure it would survive very well as just museums, the American museum is unique in the UK and is a fantastic display and layout, the DAS airliners collection is also unique since BA withdrew from Cosford, and even the IWM exhibits are really well presented, all of this on a period airfield.
I wonder how many average punters even know it is a site of flying historic aircraft before they turn up?

I personally would still be a regular visitor just for the museums, and haven’t the slightest interest in attending the flying displays there.

Sorry, I thought he meant land owner, yes not tracing the last registered aircraft owner is a bit lazy, but I’m guessing he might have moved it on as a non flyer and it wasn’t deregistered?

If you’re referring to the high wing aircraft that is the PA-20 Piper Pacer.
