Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides

Excellent as always with these films, however I would say slightly the poorer for not having a lot of the original cast in it and it just felt different and more serious than the others – it could be though that like the previous two instalments that it requires re watches to fully appreciate it (critics complain that these three are too convuluted).
The first 20 minutes or so seen a bit odd aswel, almost like panto style acting with the King, but as soon as we get to the scene with Keith Richards it gets going again!
Penelope Cruz is far better in it that I would have credited her, and is gorgous! Ian McShane (yes Lovejoy!) is brilliant aswel, though for me no one does a pirate better than Rush’s Barbossa – “I’m curious, after killing me what is it you’re planning on doing next?”!

Watch out for the trippy Mermaids, possibly a very good reason (along with some of the action) to watch the 3D version, which I didn’t and wish I had.

Or buy a second cheap DVD player, I have one in the bedroom that cost £8 from Asda (Walmart) and it plays anything.
In fact I don’t know if anyone else has found this, but it seems the cheaper the player, the more types of discs it will play?

My respect for the marque, or at the very least for that particular model, is now profound.

Ha she knows, anyway some may say the same about my driving!
I like the idea that the natural reaction of the passenger getting more and more stressed about the driving, instinctively presses their feet into the footwell and can stop the car – brilliant!

The only Citroens I’ve ever had admiration for were the DS and CX, not sure I would ever want to own one though!

Agreed, the other thing is just how utterly polished Dads Army seems to be in acting and production terms – almost like every episode is a miniature film.
I love most sitcoms and many suffer various problems, one of my favourites is Fawlty Towers but it suffers terribly from bad production and to a lesser degree some poor acting from support cast – but the writing and lead cast make it.
